Editorial Review for The Harrison – by Stephanie Rosenbaum
The Scene
Inside this elegant Tribeca charmer, candlelight flickers off creamy painted wainscoting and the welcome is warm, even to walk-ins. Owner Jimmy Bradley has the sophisticated-comfort vibe down pat; one could entertain a client or splurge with friends here with equal aplomb.
The Food
The kitchen has a happy affinity for seasonality and simplicity, letting the pure flavors of top-notch ingredients do the work. Deep orange wild King salmon gets a potent horseradish-lemon-Dijon mustard crust that stands up to the rich fish; a juicy pork chop is a marvel of tenderness, caramelized on the outside, silky pink within. There's a slight tendency to undercook the vegetables: Cute, thumbnail-sized Brussels sprouts and fat white butter beans may arrive semi-hard. But that just leaves more room for the splendid desserts, including a gorgeously tart Meyer lemon meringue pie, or a roulade of Valrohona chocolate mousse topped with a shimmering round of orange granita.

The food is wonderful, simple and always very good. The service is subtle. The staff is very knowledgeable. Prices are very good for Tribeca. Ambiance is good, sometimes a bit too dim though. Great place to take family or friends. Eating outside in the summertime is also a plus. They own Red Cat in Chelsea as well. Food is as good at Harrison and much better ambiance in Tribeca.
Pros: great service

We had a large group ~25 people here for dinner and the service and food were spectacular. We were seated in the room downstairs that had great ambiance and the long table was perfect for our event. Everyone enjoyed the food, wine and the staff was really accomodating for our large group. Would go here again in a heartbeat.
Pros: Dining room for large groups
