TERRIBLE – This salon is terrible! Don't go here!! Especially to Fior. She will cut your hair NOT the way you want, and just keep trying to fix it by chopping it off..
Especially don't let her give you hair extensions. She is horrible at it--I got them--they lied to me and told me Id need 50 pieces only. But really I needed 150. They will swindle you and take your money. The hair extensions didn't even look good and they fell out at an alarming rate!! About 30 pieces a week!
Even the front desk staff is so rude and gives dirty looks and has such an attitude
The owner of this salon is an A@#@#$%! There is no reconciling with these people or getting your money back. They lie. Period.
Amoure de Hair is AWESOME!!!! – I final found the salon that I can really trust. Everyone in the salon is so professional and friendly. Next time I will try the keratin straightening there.Thank you!
BEST SALON! – It was great experience!! I was walk-in customer... The friendly faces at the front desk told me that Mario will be with me... He started my session with great consultation then he gave me the best color and cut I have ever had in my life! The best part about it all - the staff all seem to love what they do!
The worst haircut ever (by Mario on Madison Ave). Unpleasant atmosphere to boot. Let`s put this place out of business! Does not deserve the one star I have to give it to have my review published.
Overcharged - Sloppy Salon - Rude Receptionist – Went in for a haircut - and was highly dissapointed. There was hair all over the floor I had to sweep away a section with my shoe in order to find a place to set my handbag down. The haricut was not what I had asked for (just wanted a trim - not layers all thoughout my hair). I was overcharged by $10 (the price is clearly stated) and was yelled at by the receptionist when I asked for an envelope so I could leave a tip.
I do not recommend this place - and will never be going back.
Such a rude Receptionist!!! – I went to the one at Columbus (UWS). I stopped by to get a simple trim to my ends. They have a sign on the door with the prices that says "walks in welcome"..Well guess what..They are not!
I got in... and there was a man sitting in a chair close to the door who gave me a horrible look and without asking me if I needed something just kept staring at me. I smiled and asked him if somebody was available, he asked me to sit down and did nothing! Then the receptionist who wasn't there when I came in, came back and knowing that I was RIGHT THERE asked this guy With a nasty expression in her face..."who is that"? ...The guy just replied, a walk in!...and kept reading a magazine.....
She look at me, didn?t say anything...then I again said: is it possible to get a haircut? She said..What? I can?t hear you! ....I stood up, walked to the reception desk and asked again...
She was very disappointed for some reason...I was about to leave when she said...only a hair cut? I said: yeah...then she asked this woman next to her and she replied she had to leave soon, it was about 5 pm..
Then she asked another one and she finally said yes.
The girl who ended up cutting my hair was very nice, her name is Marjorie, and she did a good job and apologized for the rudeness of the other people.
I won?t go back to this place again, they made feel very uncomfortable, and it?s not worth it. If I go to a place I expect respect and good service, the receptionist was rude again when I went back to her desk to pay.
I will say please don't go there!!!!
the WORST HAIRCUT – Ladies, if you feel your hair is a part of your sexuality.... please do not go here... it was the absolute WORST haircut I ever received in my life. I asked for a triM with a little body, and was butchered. i NOW HAVE A MULLET, AND HAVE TO probably WAIT ALMOST A YEAR FOR IT TO GROW BACK... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE FOR A HAIRCUT. I am talking about the one near bloomingdales. I called to complain and the manager never got back to me...
Don't be fooled by fancy address OR name – Absolutely horrible. I needed a quick trim for my bangs, this "salon" was the only thing open at the time. I thought "what the heck, bangs aren't hard"...boy was I wrong. Luis didn't have any idea what he was doing. They cam out way too short and all sorts of uneven. My friends and I joked after the initial shock that it was a "bad chili bowl".
Here's the skinny. . . – I understand the misunderstanding here, the name is half French and they refer to themselves as a spa and salon. I think when you approach Amour de Hair, you'll appreciate it for what it is, it's an inexpensive place to get a hair cut. If you are expecting a diamond in the rough that offers $100 haircuts for $26, you are going to leave disappointed. Ladies, I probably would not trust them to dye your hair or any other treatment where you essentially get what you pay for. Guys, I think this is a great spot between the clippers at the barber shop and the $50 - $100 haircuts that no one will truly appreciate. 'Nuff said. . .
The Worst Salon I have Ever Been To – I went in against my better judgement however I wanted something easy (cover my blond highlights with my natural light brown color) and thought I would give it a try. I left the salon with black hair and it cost me $65. After they washed the color and I saw my hair I did not even give them a chance to fix it, I cancled my cut and left. I'm now going to have to spend close to $300 at Yann Varin to have the color stripped and redone. To top if off the salon is loud and hard to move around in. Just not worth it at all, spend the money on a good salon.
