Editorial Review for Four Seasons Hotel Spa – by Sandra Ramani
The Space
Located next to the for-hotel-guests-only fitness center of the posh Four Seasons Hotel, the spa consists of eight good-sized service rooms done-up in classic, nice-hotel decor (complete with high thread-count sheets). Guests change and wait in the amenity-stocked locker room, which boasts digital lockers, steam, sauna and whirlpool, plus plenty of fresh robes and towels, bottled drinks and fruit. A complete redesign is planned for early 2002.
The Services
Upscale spa standards, with a few Eastern-inspired twists. "Touch of Bali" includes a lavender scrub and gel body wrap; "Touch of Hawaii" uses special massage moves and herbal compresses; "Raindrop Therapy" adorns the spine with ten essential oils, pre-massage; and the Japanese "Lifting Facial" uses an imported "muscle lift" machine. Massage styles include Swedish, shiatsu, Thai, Hot Stone, sports, scalp, and reflexology. Facials use Murad, Sothy's, MD Formulations and Dermologica products, while manis and pedis use OPI or, on pregnant women, the more natural Firozee; all are available for sale.
