What People Are Saying About Paradou

Paradou

Like Marcel Proust with his madeleine, a trip to Paradou will send you into fond rememberances of trips to Provence. In the pretense-filled world that is the Meatpacking District, Paradou is a fresh breath of authenticity. You will certainly feel transported whiling away the hours in Paradou's tiny but airy and bright dining room or in their sprawling year-round garden, chatting around tables of wooden wine crates, sampling wines from an all-French wine list, and dining on food that would feel right at home in a small village in the Luberon. When those cheese-and-wine cravings kick in, this pretty Provencal boite is just the answer. Hipsters with a Gallic bent while away the hours in a bright, itsy-bitsy dining room and sprawling garden, chatting around tables of wooden wine crates, and sampling Sancerre, Muscadet and Chinon from small carafes. The menu features snacky French bistro favorites like salad nicoise, as well as roast chicken, duck and other hearty entrees.
Business owner a rightist douche
by troutonfly at Citysearch
This is not so much a review of the food/service at Paradou as an indictment of the circumstances of its very existence. Why anyone would EVER support a sadistic, right-wing spammer prick with their business is beyond me. There are plenty of dining options in New York that don't require patrons to do business with a demonstrable asshat.
- Pros: proximity to other restaurants not owned by pricks
- Cons: prick ownership
Owner is abusive to his staff, according to NY Post
by moby323 at Citysearch
Don't patronize this place, according to the New York Post and other sources, this owner abuses his staff to the extreme, and docks them hundreds of dollars for petty things such as not collecting enough email addresses from patrons.
Just Google "Evil New York Restaurant Owner" for the whole story.
- Pros: It has food
- Cons: According to the New York Post, owner abuses employees
How Rude!
by goldenfalcon at Citysearch
I went in, and didn't like the food and wanted to talk to the manager about my complaint. When he approached, he had a look of disgust. I told him what I thought, and how I was very disappointed to be paying this much for this food. He told me "Go F@ck yourself, go somewhere else from now on!" Me and everyone there that night couldn't believe this guy was going off like this. We paid, and left immediately.
- Pros: It has food, that you pay for
- Cons: Rude Manager
