Occupying a 100-year-old brownstone, this bed-and-breakfast is much more than a haven of hospitality and tranquility. Crystal and her family of professional musicians treat guests like visiting royalty. They'll serve you tea in the leafy back garden, or map out several great neighborhood eateries; they may even put on a concert. It's the homey ambience of this fortress that keeps bringing people back.
The Details
There are only two bedrooms, so book far in advance. Colorfully decorated with cozy rugs and sky-blue walls, the upstairs accommodations might make you ponder moving in permanently, especially after a soak in the claw foot tub. Downstairs in the common room, you're welcome to jazz things up on the grand piano. You may want to simply lounge on the long sofa and stare up at the high tin ceiling. Or relax on the stoop like a real New Yorker.
