“The atmosphere is too big to be comfortable, the workers inefficient, and the overall vibe with the bad music is downright cold.”
“rather enjoy the retail area--they have a lot of great merchandise--but I think the management would do well to think about a renovation that would shrink the size of the outer lobby in favor of more space in back, along with some better furniture choic”
“place with such good potential is already just another tired Chelsea store , due entirely to the help.”
“He had a great experience and said the masseuse was excellent; he would go back to her.”
“I've been going to Nickel on and off for a few years for massages and I've always been satisfied with my experience -- the courteous people, the clean space and the overall service, moreover the rates are extremely resaonsable for NYC or otherwise.”
“Their prices aren't too high for a "spa," but the "you are not pretty enough" attitude they give some customers is ridiculous.”
“As far as the massage goes, I had a 90 minute massage with Franco, the massage was 100% legitimate, albeit there was no music and the room was very cold.”
just bad. well it was just bad , bad massage, bad waxing , bad environment !
The manager made it right, refunded the overcharge. I had a bad experience, got overcharged and the receptionist was very rude about it, but the manager made it right so I'm deleting the review. But I won't be going back.
Worst Phone Experience Ever. I was just abruptly told that there are no reservations even though their website scheduler says there are. I asked the associate why the disparity between the website and his response and he said "we're having our holiday christmas party and the staff member didn't want to take me even though the slot is open. RUDE! I will find somewhere else to go in the city moving forward and also tell all of my friends about this experience. This place has been going downhill for a while. This was the straw...
Go somewhere else.
This place sucks.
The atmosphere is not spa like at all. It's very cold and unwelcoming.
The therapists seem to have zero connection to the place and are somewhat robotic.
I have gotten 2 massages here now and each time they are underwhelming.
The rooms are sterile, the massage is extremely basic and you feel rushed in and out.
Not worth it. Go elsewhere.
The Best Wax experience !!!!!!!.
Recently I found the best place and person who can do wax for me quick and painless.
Oksana is excellent! She's knows her stuff when it comes to techniques.
Waxing is quick. I mean very very very quick.... I've had waxings all over NYC and had pretty bad experiences so i know what i'm talking about ! :) The back and shoulder takes like 15 minutes which is incredible.
Great Place. I've been to Nickel Spa both in Paris and of course here in NYC. I think the stafff is nice, professional, trendy and very willing to help. They really seem concerned if they percieve you are waiting. I've had excellent hair cuts and massages. And given the neighborhood, you would think they would be very expensive and they are not. Indeed, they have very competitive rates. I go when I need to relax and release my stress.
very professional and very courteous.
I come to know about Nickel from Paris. the nickel spa in Paris in the trendy area of ""le Marais"" is very upscale. I go to the one in NYC often for my haircut, and massages and Mani/padi and such. it is decent but not as great as the one in Paris. the main difference is the staff. when you walk to Paris, the staff gave the place a sense of luxury a place you will get pampered. but NYC it feels like a regular place and sometime it feels a little bit dirty... but to their credits they have improved lately. and I still go there..
I like that it is 100% for men. so whether you are Gay, Straight or confused. you can feel a sense of manhood. and it is very very professional and respectable place. the staff are very professional and very courteous.
best I've ever had. It's all about who you get. Yes it would be great if there're fountains and feng shui and cookies etc but if that's what you're looking for don't come here. This place is like a basement but bottom line the massage tables are very comfortable and my masseur David who does not come out of any page from GQ was one of the best I've ever had and I've had plenty. I don't go for manicures so can't help you there but body ask for David.
treats the customer well. Very good place - manager treats the customer well. Thanks.
