didn't look fake or brassey using natural products.my husband actualy noticed and friends are still giving me

compliments.ican't wait to go back.thankyou kimberly

Great Place for Color. Carolyn DePalma joined AKS from Fekkai and has always given me the best highlights! She is extremely professional and gives the best advice! I travel into the City from Long Island and she is worth it!

best colorist ever!!. Larissa has colored my hair for the last 3 years and has gotten it right every time!! I have a single process and half head of highlights and receive so many compliments on how beautiful and natural it looks. Larissa is a pleasure to deal with and really listens to what you want , but is not afraid to suggest her own ideas as well. I am a brunette, but Larissa also does an amazing job on friends of mine that are blond. I recommend her highly , as well as this wonderful salon.

Best cut and color. Prior to going to AKS I had gone to other top salons where they did bad highlights, couldn't figure out how to color my resistant grey hair, or made it to dark (hello Elvira!) J. Anthony at AKS saved me. As for my cut. Mika does the best layers. I am constantly complimented on my hair thanks to the team at AKS!!

Donna is a color GENIUS. To sum it up: Donna Hernandez is a genius. Seriously. Once she understands what you are looking for, she truly delivers. My highlights look fantastic! You cannot imagine how many people have asked me who does my color..... she's that good! But more than that, she is a fantastic person, and truly a pleasure to work with. she makes sure you are completely satisfied before you leave the salon, and is genuinely gracious. I cannot say enough good things. Suffice it to say, I am a customer for life. I have been to Rita Hazan, Salon Pasha, and Roy Teeluck but Donna's skill surpasses every other colorist i have seen, Highly recommend!

Great Salon/Great People. I have been going to Jay Anthony for color (blonde single process and highlights every couple of months) for about two or so years. He is just terrific at color, listens to what you want while making excellent suggestions of his own and is truly a great person and a pleasure to be with. You will be delighted with your results whether you are a blonde, brunette or redhead as I've seen great results on many different people and he has a large, loyal following. Making appointments well in advance is always recommended, but he will do his best to squeeze you in for a last minute must-do. Love cuts from Mika and Zhen, and nail/waxing/threading from Galena and Laura, too

If you're going to get color....get it from Donna!!. I've been coloring my hair for YEARS!!! I couldn't even tell you what my natural color looks like. But not until I met Donna do people think my hair color now is my natural. Its far from it! But Donna does such an amazing job with the vibrancy of the color and just the right shade that people have stopped me on the street! I constantly get asked "How did you get so lucky to have such a nice natural color". If only they knew. I highly recommend Donna! She's worth every penny and you WILL NOT be disappointed. Her assistants are always so nice and helpful as well, when she has them! I will never go to anyone else....not ever!

Right in the midst of boutique central, this chic salon bustles with the sounds of prestige purse-carriers getting gorgeous. Small by Madison Avenue standards, AKS' 15 stations are housed in two rooms, both with floor to ceiling windows. The intimate space is beautifully appointed in a modern, minimalist style; even the rolled towels above the washing stations are works of art.

Salon Services
Cut, highlights and conditioning treatments with swank extra touches (like a bit of Thai massage while you get shampooed). Hot mittens and hot cream varieties are available, as well as silk nails and extensions. Waxing is performed in two small treatment rooms. Product aficionados will love the retail counter jam-packed with goodies like Dr. Dennis Gross MD Skincare, Phytologie and Terax.

I am by no means a groupie but when it comes to my hair care I am quite obsessive. Having arrived from vacationing in Europe and getting ready for the one party I must attend a year I called Frederic. What no Carolyn. ?No I don?t want someone else?. Yes there is a god after calling some of my close friends it comes to pass that she was whisked away by a competitor. Competitors gain Fredric?s loss. Bottom line the only thing better then the party was how my hair looked. You need look no further then Salon AKS

Donna Hernandez : Best Natural looking highlights for blondes. I have follwed Donna Hernandez from Frederick Fekkai to AKS..and been with her for years. My close friends don't think I get highlights which is a huge compliment, as Donna does highlights so well it looks like you are still the blonde you might have been when you were 10. The woman who cuts my hair is contsnatly AMAZED at how well they are done too...and god only knows how many heads of hair she sees a day.
