The Space – Founded in 1996 by colorist Joel Warren, stylist Edward Tricomi and nail care specialist Roxana Pintilie, this salon is regularly featured on TV and exalted in fashion magazines. Done-up in moody Moroccan Gothic decor (think lots of gilded mirrors, rich fabrics and wrought-iron), the large space bustles with a steady stream of clients. The vibe is coolly friendly and fabulous; clients range from suburban regulars and splurging tourists to famous fans like Kate Beckinsale, Hilary Swank and Natalie Portman. – – The Services – A former guitarist, Tricomi is…

BAD BAD BAD customer Service. not worth your money
by wilsonyana at Citysearch
OMG..... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE... The place is nice, but Customer service is the worst ever!!! EVER!!!! I was not happy with my hair cut because my left sideburn is not cut the same as my right one. 3 days later I went back asking them to fix it. 4 of their staff suddenly surrounded me and tried to blame me for not telling my hairdresser earlier. They even intimidated you and claim that you want something done for free. Edward Tacomi, the owner, who showed up after I keep complaining, he bring me out, and told me that my hair is perfect and told me that I just want a 2nd haircut for free... What the hell... it was only freakin 2 days..... He was so rude. Seriously, there are a lot of much better hair salon in NYC with the same price but much better quality! If you ask me, it's really not worth your money or time.
Great Experience

I have very long, very fine hair but I have a ton of it. People usually take hours and hours to highlight my hair. My colorist was great. She talked me out of a single process to go blonder and instead took the time to do highlights. It came out way better then I expected and she was right, it was much for my hair and lifestyle.
She also noted for my next appointment to put in more time as to not run into other clients. My stylist was just as attentive and said I had the appropriate style for my face but it just needed a better shape which he did skillfully. I will be back in a few months.
Edward Tricomi rude owner bad customer service

I went to the salon Warren Tricomi at the Plaza as first time guest, as I wanted to try the services across from my office. I normally go to Fekkai and I am familiar with nice salons.
I was told when I originally went in my highlights would cost $250 by the front desk associate, plus as a local business they extended 20% off as a potential new corporate account.
After the color, I found out from the assistant that blow-dry was not included. That she could arrange one for me at 80 dollars extra or I could do it on my own. Then she mentioned the colorists were not great at blow drying, well why would I do it then? I opted to air dry / quickly dry my hair in the salon as I wanted to work out later.
The entire session I had to hold my handbag as there were no tables in the salon. Very luxurious. I also managed to get serum on my bag that the associate gave me from the leaking bottle, lucky it left a small stain. At the time, the front office manager said they would take care of it.
Then I go to pay my bill and it was $375, way above what the front desk associate quoted on Wednesday at $250.
I spoke a few times to the Front Desk Manager and she put me in touch directly with the owner. Edward was rude; with zero intention to extend a refund of the difference quoted. He was fully obnoxious on the phone. They also told me they would no longer take care of the stain on my bag. I had three friends lined up to go in, I made sure to let them know how I was treated. Definitely go to John Frieda or Fekkai, this place is over priced and the owner Edward is an ungracious host.
great cut, worst color ever
by mickeysgirl at Citysearch
Having seen the work of Joel Warren and Edward Tricomi on various TV shows, I decided to splurge and book appointments with each of them at their Greenwich salon.
Cut....shorter than I wanted, but great great cut.
Color...absolutely terrible. I ended up with very very blonde hair that did not in anyway go with my skin tone. I asked for chestnut color. Did not listen to me at all. Came back for "correction". Assistant did the correction and it was just as bad as the original. Took months to get my hair back in condition. Joel is totally not with the price. Quite the opposite.
