Rude and Inexpercienced Staff. I have been many times at Toni and Guy in London but the NY salon is very different. In fact, it is not really a salon but a training center for new stylists. The salon accepts a few appointments but doesn't really have sufficient staff. I went in for a single process color and blowdry and had to wait at every stage of the process. The haircolor stayed on too long because the colorist was dealing with other matters (i.e., she disappeared for 30 minutes). When I asked that my hair be rinsed, I received very rude and inappropriate remarks. After that, my hair was blowdried very roughly and not the way I had asked. Tony and Guy may be great elsewhere but certainly not in NYC. The NY salon is charging high end prices but is treating you like you are a "model" for one of their training classes.

Great place if you want a mullet. I am really not sure what others are talking about giving these salon exceptional reviews. At TIGI claim to be creative and innovative and that your hair will be cut by the very best 'creative directors'. I have never had a worse and more expensive haircut. It looks like a mullet and my hair was so thinned out by adding too many messy layers. They did the exact same thing to my friend. My hair looks horrendous and definitely not worth $175. I have been to many exclusive and trendy salons and can tell you that for the quality you will receive at TIGI, you may as well get a $20 cut at Super Cuts.

Waste of money. I "cheated" on my long time hairdresser to try this place out as I had heard many great things. I was extremely disappointed with the space, the arrogance of the stylists, and the actaul haircut. I have a mullet haricut, made popular by several 80's rock stars. It looks terrible-- Although it was the most money I have ever paid for a haircut-($!75!!), it was undoubtedly the worst.

overpriced hair cut. I have gotten haircut that i had to grow out for over 6 months. The stylist didnt really listen to what i wanted just gave me a blunt layers that didnt really complement my features. Just another " whats in style now " haircut. Why do hairdressers almost never care for what client is asking for?? To pretentious, maybe good for models but not for us "mortals".

Great Cut. I have been going to Tigi for about six months now...and I always leave there feeling like a model. They are great and worth every penny. My only complaint is that they're only open on the weekends, which sometimes makes it hard to get an appointment. If you're looking for a great, edgy cut, this is the place to go.

Best Haircut Possible. There is no other place you could go, where the stylists are gifted enough to treat haircutting as a science. The constant training that they undergo puts them head and shoulders above any other salon. No other salon is so consistently excellent. I have been to four or five different stylists, and they are all excellent. You don't even need to tell them what you want, and they make your hair better than you envisioned. Plus, you can go in and get a free trim between cuts! THE BEST!

Great Salon. Based on great reviews, I decided to give this salon a try. And how glad I am that I did. The salon is as great as reviewers have described it to be. Great, unpretentious service - where customers are treated with care and respect. Lam was my stylist and I've never had anyone take so much care with my hair. It took him nearly an hour and a half to give me exactly the cut I wanted.

Great results. I saw Kevin for corrective color after another salon gave me blonde hair (Im a natural brunette) so not only did he bring back my natural hair color, he also managed to add BEAUTIFUL highlights! I was very, very pleased with the way my hair turned out.. and even though it was late in the evening the staff was very friendly and very helpful. Im never going anywhere else Kevin listened carefully and gave me exactly what I wanted, and the prices were surprisingly not that bad much lower than what Id paid elsewhere for color/highlighting.
