Editorial Review. Twenty-two floors of classically elegant rooms and suites on the Upper East Side, some with whirlpool tubs, full entertainment centers.

Great Service and Nice Locale. I went expecting average and recieved great service . It's location is within walking distance of good food and entertainment . The concierge, Anya , is awesome ! give the lady a raise .One quick phone call each afternoon got us dinner at "212" , reserved seats at Dangerfields and theater tix .

On the block we found a great 5 dollar breakfast and a 7 dollar lunch . It is 20 blocks from Times Sqaure , but in NYC terms that is only a 30 min walk . 3 blocks from Central Park , Ten blocks from the Met Museum . If shopping is your pleasure you are only 2 blocks from Madison Ave. , Park Ave. and 5th Ave.

We will go back !

poor facility:poor performance. when we arrived we were put ito a Queen bed room when we had booked a king room. The Queen room measured 10' by 12"(no joke) and it took them a day to move us. They mad no adjustment on the price and were quite rude. On the plus side, they have an ample number of elevators and the neighborhood is great. Next time, I'll look for a better hotel nearby!

Nice & Comfortable. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are faily large. The room I stayed in had a corner terrace and the view was very nice. The area is great too - right near Bloomingdale's and diesel, zaras, banane republic, gap and express.

Not Worth the Stress. Arrived at hotel at 6pm on check-in date and our room was not ready. Hotel offered to upgrade us but only to a smoking room. We would have to wait 45 min. for a non-smoking room (with no upgrade). We had an hour to get ready before heading out to a play, so we spoke to the manager who only offered us a drink at the bar. Only after we pressed the issue did he offer us an upgrade to a non-smoking room (guess they had one afterall) but only for the first night. After half an hour spent sorting this out our original non-smoking room was ready. We were offered nothing for all the stress and inconvenience. The room was terrible (tiny with only a double bed and paper-thin walls). We complained further the next day and, finally (for a fee) were able to upgrade to a normal room.

Great Find, Lots of Fun. We had the best experience, right near Madison Ave, the rooms are newly renovated and we realized that we had stayed there when it was the Barbazon! It was a nice trip and the staff was helpful.

Perfect location. The Melrose Hotel was perfect. Great prices, perfect location and terrific ammenities. Staff was very accomadating and extremely helpful. Didn't have to go to far because everything was nearby. Walking distance from great dining and perfect for shopping. The museums were only a quick cab ride away. I will be back!!

Barn Yard Room. This hotel really sucked!!! My room was tiny and looked like a cape cod some thing or other, white shutters and bad bedspread. The only good thing was the area everything else felt like a bad discount hotel.

Nice new look and feel. The Melrose provided me with everything that I was looking for. Through a special promotion that I found my wife and I ended up staying at the hotel for less than $200. The rooms were comfortable and the service was great. Next time I return to New York I will make sure to make another reservation at the Melrose.
