Good food Poor service.
So my gf and I have frequented Willie's quite a few times and normally enjoy ourselves. Our last 2 visits this summer left much to be desired. The food was good as usual but the service was just bad. On our last visit on 8/12 we arrived a little after 8PM. We were promptly seated and given menus. After we made our orders everything went down hill. Our waitress never returned to our table after giving us our drinks. Once the food arrived I purposely left my empty glass near the edge of the table in plain view. She walked by us at least 5 times and never looked our way. Not once asked us if everything was ok or if we needed another drink. The place was somewhat full but I have seen it busier. We finished our meals and if it wasn't for the busboy who stopped by to refill our water we wouldn't have had anything else to drink. Its a shame because my gf and I were planning on staying there a bit longer to enjoy some drinks and the DJ after dinner but with the piss poor service we just paid our bill and left. Its a shame really because it seems that there is only one really good waiter there. I didn't get a chance to get his name but he's a tall spanish guy. Every time we have sat at one of his tables our night out has been great. Its really a shame because this past outing there has left us with no desire to return in the near future. If we do stop by again we will make sure we get a table at the spanish guy's section. Too bad it seems that he is the only really good worker there.
- One last thing, I believe the waitress's name was Natalie. I think that's the name I remember from the receipt I got.
Food & Ambiance is GREAT!!!. I went to dinner with my girlfriends last Friday night and I have to say the food was good. I had the shrimp scampi, which I LOVED and will be back for. My friends had the Churrasco which tasted really good and seasoned well. The drinks are cheap and strong, which is a BIG PLUS. There's a nice ambiance going on. Seems like everyone knows each other & are welcoming. There's was a DJ playing Latin music and had the crowd entertained. There's a back patio to sit and enjoy the breeze. It's definitely a hidden jewel. Will be back again.
Excellent steak and churrasco, reasonable price.. My boyfriend and I were there on Friday, 4/4/08. I ate rice and beans with platanos and porterhouse steak, he ate churrasco with baked potatoe, our steaks were just as big as the plate. We both ate desert and the total dinner with a drink and glass of wine was $60. They have latin jazz on Friday nights, the owner and the waiters are very friendly. We are going back this Friday. You get music, garlic bread, salad, dinner and desert for under $65 for two. Excellent service. The only problem is, it is not easy to get parking. They do not have parking at all.
