Nothing has matched it in 36 years!. My family and I have been coming to El Charro's regularly since 1975! IWe have never had a less than fantastic meal. Everything is delicious. The paella, shrimp in wine sauce, mariscada in green sauce, chicken villaroy, king crab legs, guacamole, chalupas, and their salsa and chips ....just to name a few are incredible! The service is amazing. The waiters and bartender are the sweetest most gracious people ever! And the frozen margaritas are THE BEST...and also knock you off your feet. I cannot imagine life without this place.

A touch of Spain in the West Village.... Went to El Charro last night on whim...was walking by and glanced inside...reminded me of places in Madrid and Barcelona. We were not disappointed...great sangria and margaritas, wonderful service and ambiance...a big famly having a wonderful evening...and most importantly, the food was great. I'm kind of a paella snob, but this one was famtastic...lots of seafood and chicken and flavor. I felt like I had traveled to Spain for a couple of hours. Love it, and will be back! So intimate and charming....the bill for two with several drinks, starters and a paella(which was plenty for two)....$85!

I LOVE EL CHARRO. This has to be one of the best resturants I have ever been in. This small little place is so great. I've tried almost everything on the menu and everything was amazing. The service never dissapoints, the guys are so sweet. Their sangria and margharitas are so tasty. Its a great date place.

AND... the Best Margaritas in New York!. I've been dining here since 1990, and have NEVER been disappointed in my meal.. Always perfect fried calamari, and everything else. When friends ask me what I recommend, I say just look at the menu and order whatever you're in the mood for. It will be delicious. Superior service only adds to the experience. and a little known secret... you can order any dish as a tapa, and they will prepare it in the small portion for you!

Always a treat. I have been coming to El Charro for 15 years and I have never had a bad meal. The chips that are on the table are homemade and delicious-order the guacamole as an addition, it's worth it. The Sangria is amazing, definitely get a pitcher..or two. I love the shrimp with green sauce, but nothing I have had has ever disappointed. Service is great and it's a very cute, romantic setting.

Consistently Delicious. There hasn't been a time where I've been disappointed in the meals served here. It is consistently fresh and delicious. No other Spanish restaurant has topped it yet.

EXTRAORDINARY. I go to El Charro on a regular basis with my roommates. The service is the best I have experienced anywhere in the city. The waiters are friendly and attentive, always willing to go the extra mile. The sangria is sensational...order a pitcher because you won't be able to get enough - - if you call in advance they will soak the fruit for even longer. The portions are large, so I suggest sharing with friends. I always get the lobster tails - - they are cooked in the most amazing lime butter sauce I have ever tasted. Don't pass on dessert!

Authentic Spanish Restaurant. This restaraunt has the best seafood. Being there is like entereing Spain for a couple of hours without the plane ride.
