Great Neighborhood Place. Henry's is my neighborhood restaurant/bar because they make the best hamburgers I've had here in NYC and because the bartenders are good-looking and friendly. The decor (Craftsman) and lighting are pleasing, although I for one could do without those Herman Miller posters. Excellent selection of wines (all American). Pretty narrow selection of items on the menu but they change seasonally; desserts are yummy and well-priced, great late night menu. Recommendations: Eat at the bar rather than in the dining room, it's cozier. And always ask the price of a special before ordering one!

Warm and inviting restaurant. I have been frequenting Henry's for about 2 years and just love it. The service is so attentive and warm. Each server brings a unique characteristic. They are not stuffy and stuck-up like most NYC restaurants. They take the time to get to know you. Your experience really starts right when you walk in with the door staff. They always welcome you with open arms and try to accommodate you as soon as possible. I know it is not a fluke for the servers to be so kind. Henry's is on to something when it comes to service. As for the food it is quite pricey however it is SO good. If you are ever at the restaurant when they are serving their soft shell crabs; order them fast. They are usually sold out later at night. I highly suggest this restaurant if you are visiting the "upper upper" West Side.

THE Worst Customer Service EVER!. Let me begin by saying that 4 of us are in the restaurant business, so we have sympathy for the service industry and have a high level of tolerance for things that could happen. Last night, Friday, coming with a large group, 40-45 people. We had a reservation and tables were set up in the far end of the restaurant. Our group was one of the first to arrive, 4 adults & 2 young children. Seated promptly, our server took our drink orders and we gave our food orders since it was getting late. It took 15-20 minutes for 3 glasses of wine, and a cocktail to be served. Another half an hour later, we asked our server about our food and her response was that she had to wait for the rest of the table. That's almost 50 minutes later; 2 adults had just arrived and sat at the table and there were still 2 empty seats. I don't know when they thought it would be appropriate to serve the food, especially since no one cared to ask if anyone else was coming. About 10 mins later, they served the children their food. Another 10 mins passed we asked the person who appeared to be the floor manager about our food, she quickly said the food will be out soon; I guess she felt the 6 & 5 year olds were going to finish their meals and jump in cab home themselves. At the same time, someone at our table asked for a drink, she took the order & hurried away, never asking anyone else if they wanted anything, which would have been nice since we were still waiting for our food. At about 11:30 pm, we asked the server to split our check since we were leaving before the others, she returned with a check for the entire table. Really? additionally, only after our 3rd complaint did the server apologize. I guess 45 customers were not important for the management. Just when we thought it couldn't be any worse, they had the audacity to add a 20 % gratuity to the check. Gratuity is defined as: A FAVOR or GIFT, usually in the form of money, given in RETURN FOR SERVICE. I don't know what else to say.

Great dinner, service, atmosphere. Quickly looking for a restaurant in the area and stumbled in on Henry's. Billy was so attentive. The food was well prepared, drinks were great (the bartender knows his stuff) and we had an excellent evening. Will be sure to return next time we are in town. I hear they have a great brunch so expect to try that.

childrens playground. Normally I enjoy Henrys but last sundays brunch experience was terrible. Too many children running around the restaurant, screaming, and crawling on the floor. It was over the top. I'd avoid brunches until the management knows how to handle disruptive children (and incompetent parents). If you do have children bring them...they've got good pancakes...my kids like the banana.

Generally good, but.... my most recent experience at Henry's left much to be desired. My burger (which I sent back) was practically raw both times. I don't think "medium well" means "rare". It was my first time there for lunch, so maybe I'll just stick to dinner--when the server and staff seem to be more attentive to detail.

great brunch, nice upscale atmosphere. The brunch at Henry's is fantastic - I highly recommend both the crepes and the panko-crusted salmon cakes. The restaurant is quite large, and the tables spaced out - a nice change from the usual NY restaurants, where you're packed in like sardines. The space is tastefully decorated and the service is good.

Good is the Chef is there!. This is a good neighborhood spot only if the chef and owner is there. On a Monday night, the food is horrific, so much so, that I am tempted to never return. I've eaten here four times. I was so impressed with the tuna appetizer and their signature mussels, but when I ordered these dishes for a guest visiting from upstate, we were so disappointed we sent the mussels back. Before we walked into the restaurant, we asked the hostess and then the waiter, "Guy" if they were fresh. We we're assured they were. Instead, they were bitter, rubbery and fishy! The chefs signature coconut milk infused broth was replaced with a bunch of tomatoes, sloppily placed on top! I was so embarrassed because I had been bragging about this dish for weeks and when my guest finally came to NYC, they were horrible! The service is awful. My waiter "Guy" didn't even notice our arrival. We literally waited 15 minutes before we asked the bus boy to locate our server. When he arrived he was sarcastic and rude. After paying my bill, I complained to the less than sympathetic manager. She listened but she didn't offer any compensation for my horrific experience. I will not go there again for a long, long, time-and only on a Saturday when the chef is there!

Good Food....very poor service. I've had brunch several times at Henry's and its always SPOT ON. Last monday I had a friend in town arriving late. So i called and asked what time they were serving til, they said 11pm. We were seated at 10:20pm. My goodness could the waiter be less happier. Seriously, he comes right up and is like "do you know what you want to drink", no hi, no greeting. I ordered some scotch, and we got a bottle of wine. I had not even taken a sip from my wine glass before the waiter starts comming over pouring more wine in my glass. He just wanted us out of there. My two guests ordered soup, as he served them he said "oh i'm not gonna bring the pepper over because I think the soup is seasoned perfectly" PULEAZE!!! He most likely had already cleaned the pepper grinder and didn't want to have to do it again. The food was great. I had this great Qualye special...DELICIOUS..very juicy . Each of my guests enjoyed there meal as well. It bothers me that we were so rushed... 40 minutes before closing is a big difference between 5 minutes to closing. But I will be back again...cause Henry's is a good restaurant,. and I will not let one waiter dissuade me.

One of our favorites. This was one of the first places we tried in the neighborhood. The chocolate and vanilla creme brulee is one of my hubbie's favorite things in the world. I really like the brunch and their goat cheese salad. We've gone back here at least once a month and haven't been disappointed with the food. The service can be less than perfect, but never bad.
