PC RICHARDS ARE MISLEADING SCAMMERS

On December 7 , 2008 I called the Pc Richards in Rockaway Blvd Queens New York.

I asked if they sell laptop memory sticks at least 1 - 2 gb

THEY TRANSFERRED ME OVER TO THE EXPERIENCED COMPUTER TECH HE TOLD ME YES

AND THAT ITS CALLED an EXTERNAL HARDDRIVE AND IF I BUY IT ,

IT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF MY LAPTOP ISSUES I had just installed windows vista ultimate.

HELLO I CAN TAKE A LAPTOP APART AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER IM NOT A GRANDMA THAT CAN BE SCAMMED IN BUYING SOMETHING THAT IS NOT NEEDED.

I THINK IF YOU DONT NOW ENOUGH ABOUT COMPUTERS DONT LET PC RICHARDS OFFER YOU ANY HELP THEY WILL STEER YOU the WRONG. Way THAT WAS UNEXCEPTIBLE IN MY BOOK.

• Pros: SOMETIMES THEY ANSWER THE PHONE
• Cons: CANT BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY SCAMMERS

Avoid buying electronics

I bought a PS3 from the store in Brooklyn (Flatbush and 4th Avenue) since the price was the same as other stores. No one mentioned that electronics can't be returned or exchanged even if they are defective.

When I started to install the PS3, I noticed that the box seemed like it had been opened already. Further, upon trying to hook it up it turned out to be defective. When I called the store only 2 days after buying it I was told that they would not exchange the item for another PS3 and that I had to go through the manufacturer directly.

I can understand not wanting to grant refunds on a game system to avoid people buying systems to use temporarily and then returning them when they are done playing a game. But not exchanging an item for the same thing when it is fully within the return period is poor customer service. Electronic equipment is too expensive to have to worry about what happens if it doesn't work. I could have just ordered the thing directly from the manufacturer and received a better outcome. If they aren't going to take responsibility for their own merchandise, then there isn't really a reason for them to exist.

Now, I'm stuck spending several weeks calling Sony, waiting for them to mail my PS3 back to me (which isn't even guaranteed to be new!!) before I can even get to use it.

I definitely won't shop there again and I wouldn't recommend anyone buying electronic merchandise from them.

Worst Installation experience ever

Worst installation experience ever. Four visits to get a working washer dryer installed. Unprepared frat boys. An hour late the first visit late on a Friday afternoon. Claimed they didn't have the tools to unhook the dryer and bailed - the local plumber used an ordinary wrench, three minutes and $125. Second visit (late again) - unit installed, but stained carpets, banged up walls and could not remove the old unit (not enough room in the van). They leave and we discover the dryer doesn't work. Crew returns for the third visit to remove the old appliances - but with the same van and tries to refuse to accept responsibility for the boxes and packing material (not enough room in the van - they say). Still awaiting the fourth visit to get a working dryer. Never again. All the ads and phone filler "perfect customer service - elegant installation" don't believe it!
