Probably not going back

by dana k at Citysearch

I bought a Lifebooker offer for this place, mani-pedi for $12. It took FOREVER to make the appointment!!!! Each time I called they said they were booked. And they always ask you first "where did you hear about us" and when you say Lifebooker they say, "we are booked" I called SEVEN times before I was able to finally make an apoint.

And IT WAS SO NOT WORTH THE WAIT!

The manicurist was Russian and barely spoke English, which is always irritating.

She barely scrubbed my feet, she DID NOT USE AN ANTISEPTIC on my nails before she painted them which is gross!!! The nail polish was SO THICK AND UNEVEN it just looked bad. Of course it never dried and it got smudged that night 3HOURS AFTER SHE PAINTED THEM. The topcoat and base coat were some cheap brand nail polish. My nails got chipped 2 days later, which is too soon for Essie nail polish. I had better experiences with this nail polish brand, it’s all about knowing how to apply it which she obviously didn’t.

They had a great offer for a Brazilian that I am thinking about buying but I ‘m definitely never doing my nails there again.

Very clean!

The rooms are kept real clean here at all times, unlike some spas in the village area. Real nice.

SCARS!!

by AnnNYC at Citysearch

This place was so unsanitary. I got laser hair removal treatment. My skin was marked with a dirty pencil. There was no preprep cleaning or numbing cream or protectant skin gel, before/after the treatment. After the treatment, another worker walked into the room to grab something, while I was putting my clothes on. I left the place with severe burns and I was in so much pain. It's been 6 months, and I still have about 20 mini donut shaped scars. And the hair grew back, folliculitis. I should have stuck with my expensive salon.

MEAN ADMINISTRATION!!!

by La Z at Citysearch

I came here many times and spend a lot. I mean A LOT.

The only reason I came here was the laser hair removal, which is good, and they have good specials going on. I have Rimma doing my full body laser hair removal and she's just wonderful. She is very caring and gentle and does a great job. I highly recommend her for the laser. Full body is about $500.

But...

Today I had another laser and after that decided that I should treat myself if I am in a spa anyway. I've been such a good girl and wanted to have a beauty and stress relief day. So I got a Swedish massage, mani/pedi, facial, and a haircut. This ended as the worst Spa experience in my life.

The massage was OK, pretty relaxing, with scrub but I've had better. For $80 I expected a better massage thou.

The mani/pedi was great. Dana was doing my pedi and I am very happy with the result. Spa pedi $25, Mani $8

The facial with Tatiana was not good. She was not gentle with my skin and was using the sponge like she was cleaning her kitchen sink. $80. I've had a better facial done for much less money.

Sophia did my hair and THIS IS THE WORST HAIR CUT I've had in my life. I have a waist long hair and asked for layers but keep the length. She took 10 inches off and now I have a shoulder long hair. She asked another guy to do my styling, I don't know his name, but seems like it was his 1st day holding the hair instruments.

I initially wanted to have a hair cut by another stylist, an older gentleman. I saw how he was cutting a client's hair: he had skills and more important passion to his work. But he had other appointments, and the administrator recommended me another person. She literally said that Sophia is the best hair stylist she had seen. Well, she lied.

But not the service in the Beauty and Youth Spa made me angry. No. The administrator, an older lady, which name I don't know, showed the most unprofessional behavior ever.

When she saw that I was unhappy with the result, she started arguing with me, and instead of trying to calm me down, she said it was my own fault of not looking after the stylist. She said I had shorter hair when I came in (I had to show my picture of how I looked Before as a proof).

Then she said I didn't explain well. Then she said "well, we give you the best customer service, and the lowest prices, so you have to pay, and stop giving me an attitude". I said I would not pay for the bad hair cut and styling, and that I am ready to pay for all the other services, she said "No, you have to pay, I like your hair cut, you're just needy, so you pay". I said that the bad hair cut and her mean behavior ruined my relaxed day after the massage, mani/pedi, and etc, and she said "So if this can ruin your day, you're just stupid". How's that for a customer service???

Another staff lady said that she should not charge me for the cut and styling and should give me a gift card bcs I am a good client but the administrator told her to shut up.

Finally she said "Ok, don't pay for the cut and styling, we don't need your money and won't get poor without those $55".

You don't need my money??! OK. You won't see me anymore.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL - Cheap BUT Horrible & RUDE Service

by LaBella05 at Citysearch

Their laser hair removal price is low but they want you to buy their 6 treatment package and lock you in. NEVER EVER DO THAT. And thank goodness I didn't do that because their service is horrible. The technician is extrememly RUDE!

The free consultation is with the cashier out in the register, which is embarrasing since there's no privacy at all, which makes the consultation pretty much useless. Not the laser technician. The technician don't even have a mind of her own and have to listen to the cashier on which area to remove and which area not to remove..which is pathetic. Hello??? I'm the customer and I paid for the service, listen to me! What happens to the motto, "customers are always right?"

They use Palmore laser (I was told that it's one of the top laser hair removal equipment in the industry by the cashier. And this is NOT true at all. It's one of the worse b/c I got burned even though I got light skin and super dark hair...and the worse part is that it doesn't even work).

I was told to let her know to stop if it's too hot so she will re-adjust the temperature. But did she stop when I told her? No she didn't. She was absolutely rude! I told her repeatly every time she put the laser on my upper leg. After the 5th time, she stopped and re-adjust the temperature. Pathetic! And she doesn't even apply aloe gels to your skin after the treatment.

The temperature was just right on my lower legs but they got scarred the very next day. The areas where I actually feels that it's too hot (and asked her to stopped), got dark after a week or so.

I have 2 different laser hair removal treatments from 2 different places and they are all awesome with no complaints except for this one. To sum it up, this place is ghetto. No offense or anything...I'm just speaking from my experience
