Best ever!. Takamichi was absolutely incredible - he gave me a long-term plan on how I should get future cuts, and I left with quite possibly the best haircut I have ever had. I'm only in NYC every 6-8 weeks for work, but I'm definitely coming back to see Takamichi.

Save the money n time. I went in to get a fohawk. Took pictures with me and told the stylist how i wanted it. Specifically told the stylist i want the back to be untouched. stylist told me it doesnt look too professional and will trim it just a bit. took half the length out. it took me 2 mons to grow it long to where i wanted it to be but it was gone in 60secs! then the top was uneven. stylist cut one side too short and left the other side with the perfect length but looked retarded cuz it was uneven. I went back the next day and stylist was kind enough to fix it. but damage done. to fix it, had to cut the hair short to even it out. Overall the hair doesnt look bad, but doesnt look anything like how i wanted it. I wanted a fohawk and was willing to pay more than what i usually pay but walked out with a regular medium length haircut which i cldve gotten for 20 bucks. I dunno why the stylist try to do different than what u asked for. I wont mention the stylist name but frm the other reviews it looks like he/she is well known. very disappointed

Valerie is fantastic. I followed Valerie here from her previous gig at Arte Salon and I would follow her anywhere. She is truly good at what she does and takes the time to give a precision cut. Val takes great pride in her work and seems to genuinely care about all her clients.

disappointed.... I went to takamichi HAIR for twice total and I had a good experience for the first time. So I went back there again to have a hair cut with the same hairstylist. While she was working on cutting my hair, we were chatting and it seems she was so into talking and she made a really bad mistake to cut part of my bangs so short (about 1 inch from my scalp). She was trying to pretend as if nothing serious happened and I didn't tell her anything because it is already a done thing, but I can see on a mirror that my part of my bangs are strangely short... This is really unprofessional... I wouldn't go back there anymore.

Make an appt with Cristin. Fantastic salon. Airy, light-filled loft space that's completely unpretentious - I felt comfortable the moment I stepped in. Cristin is an amazing stylist! Attentive, easygoing, and so talented. She's cut my hair from pixie short to a layered shoulder length style and I've zero complaints - she's a doll. Highly recommended!

My lovely Hair salon!!!!. Takamichi hair is such a great space! I already went a couple of times, I freakin love it! When I went into salon I felt at home yet selective atmosphere.I love all small little arts and details in salon too! My Stylist, She gives me such a great hair cut,I just love it and it grew back so well.and little tips of styling technique,the way of hair cuts are very detailed.I feel so much better everytime I go there!!!! Thank you!

jenni is my new personal beauty god!!!. first of all---the salon is AMAZING!!!!

second of all---jenni is the coolest hairdresser ever! i had no clue what to do with myself, but jenni put me up to date! i was tired of looking like a carbon copy reject, and she totally re-imagined a new me and now i dont feel so boring! i love how she listened to what i wanted or wanted to avoid, then she gave me some cool suggestions on turning toward a new direction so i get away from taking on the same haircut i always do. after that, she told me, from start to finish, how to do my hair MYSELF---WHICH I THOUGHT I COULD NEVER DO (i used to hate doing my hair)! now, i not only look HOT as heck leaving the salon, but i look HOT EVERY DAY!!!!

Oooh la la eye lashes. Ok, for any of you who want your lashes to look lusciously curled, I have just found the BEST salon. I have never heard of a japanese eyelash perm until a friend recommended I check it out at Takamichi Hair. Yoshie curled my eyelashes and made them look fuller and longer. The best part was, it lasted for months!!! I highly recommend this service and can't wait to try a haircut there.

Carol + Takamichi Hair = outstanding!. I was in to see Carol recently at Takamichi Hair. I am writing this because she has given me the best style I've had in a real long time. She also cut my husbands' hair and it looks fantastic! She listens very well to what you say & want. She then discusses options with you ( I wanted something totally out of reach for my fine hair) and gives you ultimately the best thing! Because she pays such great attention to detail, she is a one stop hair source for Zack & I. Thank you so much Carol! See you soon!

Great service, talented artists. Takahiro really is an artist and he takes cutting hair very seriously. He will listen to what you want, but also give you suggestions for what he thinks will look good for your hair type. When the cut is done, he always gives recommendation for styling, but never pushes you to buy any products. The only problem is that they are getting so popular that it will be hard to get an appointment!
