Best Crabcakes and good spot to linger and catch up with friends
by fun4gem
Have been here several times. The food and menu choices are great and reasonable priced. The service is just okay. Outdoor dining is available.
I was excited about their happy hour drink specials but it's misleading. They advertise 2 for 1 but don't tell you it's only if you are drinking with someone. I had ordered several drinks for myself and my friend had none. I could tell the waitress realized I thought I was getting the drink special but never said anything. My check arrived with the drinks charged separately.
Not a happy night but I won't give up on this place though. Just remember the drink specials are a crock, don't order mixed drinks because they are so poorly made; Stick with beer or sodas and you'll be okay.
- Pros: affordable & tasty menu, outdoor dining
- Cons: BEWARE: drink specials are not as advertised.
Best Service, Best Food, best Bar!!!
by cherrygrl08
I love this place. When ever I have family or friends intown, this is where I take them. The Atompshere is fun yet chill and the food is amazing. Everything is always fresh and they never seem to havea problem with you ask for something done a certain way( e.i. the Combo platter with only wings and chicken fingers!!). The guy who was my server was great. He is funny and sweet and somehow was always there when we needed him. Another time I came to the bar for happy hour ( which is 2 for one OF ANYTHING!!!!!) the bartender was great, she was so sweet and treated us like we'd been friends all our lives. She was very inviting and made her bar a welcoming place to be. I recently heard that it was closing and i'm totally bummed because, honestly, it seemed to be the last, real place in new york to get an all around good meal. Also- I read those other comments and those people must be lying or went in a BAD day beause the serivce from the bar and floor were always excellent. Kudos to the staff, owner, cooks and managers for making such a special place! Cheers!!
- Pros: Great Food, large bar, great juke box
- Cons: A little dark, a litttle loud
not a friendly place

I've been to this place 2 times, with my girlfriend, and both times we were treated like garbage by the bartender. There was almost no one in there, and he kept walking past us and ignoring us. I was willing to let it go once, but we got the same treatment two times. I've had enough with this place.
- Cons: bad service
AMAZING NACHOS
by bryanprosek
This Bar/Grill has some of the best food I've had when I'm out drinking. Not really a quiet, 'boothy' kind of place, it has huge windows that give a good view of the street and an open feel. The drinks were good, a bit overpriced (but i guess that's NY), but what really set it apart was the food. My date and I went for just one drink on a Friday night, and got the nachos to try as an appetzer before going out to another restaurant. Well, out comes a HUGE pile of nachos with everything. We loved it and ended up just having that. Our bartender was nice enough, got us fresh drinks when we wanted, and most importantly, knew when to leave us alone (I hate being pushed for drinks all the time, I always just put my empty at the end of the bar. It should be a universal sign). I would recommend stopping here if you need a 'bottom' to your drinking.
- Pros: Open feel, good food for the price
- Cons: I hate madonna on a jukebox
Rudest server ever
by dizzydreamer
Three friends and I ordered drinks from the bar and then decided we wanted to grab a snack, so we sat down for table service. We flagged the waiter and ordered fries, at which point, he says, rudely, sarcastically, "Wanna order that from the bar?" before ripping the menus out of our hands. Um... so we ordered from the bar. But then he came back with fries, followed by the bartender bringing over the plate we had ordered at the bar. Huh!? And then we were expected to pay for both!? Ok, I know its standard for places to require a $10 min for table service and the fries were only $5, but how about simply letting us know that Boxers was such a place instead of being rude? And then, after telling us to order it from the bar, why actually put in our order?
- Cons: service
