Worth the Trip! Three flights up to better Music experience.. Sophie and all employees are wonderful and experienced. She holds an instrument with artistry. THese are parents that have children that play too, and practice hard too, so know I want my child to play well. There is nothing more important than this common type of relationship too me. Thank you Sophie, Jon and all. Bravo!

Quality is very important!!!. I rented violin and cello ,good quality of this instruments. Prices are affordable, The staff is always ready to answer anything you ask for, good service , Know the store since 2001 .

Great Student Violins. I have bought a Snow violin for my 10 year old daughter from Flushing Violin Shop. The staff was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. My niece wanted to purchase a violin also but her budget was a bit lower, and they have seached the shop to find the best ones for the price we had asked, and had made changes to it to them make them sound even better. My niece was very happy with her purchase.

I have purchased a 1/4 violin for my son from another shop many years ago. It sounded very muffled comparing the the Snow and the one my niece purchased. I took it in for the shop to see if there's anything I can do to make it sound better, they told me that it was machine made, and the top was very thick, so the sound does not project much. This violin costs about the same as my nieces! I wished I have known this shop earlier.

Update:

My 2 children traded in their violins for the next size. We also upgraded to the next Snow model. Sophie again was extremely helpful in finding the best violins within her inventory and was equally generous with our trade-in policy. Both of our teachers had commented on how good the violins sounded, and one expressed that he wished other parents would buy such good violins for their kids. Our teachers had said to us that the tone and sound of the violins are very important to ear training.

Also, if the violins are not made well, it becomes frustrating to play since the students will not be able to play with ease, and achieve the nice sounds. If the violins are of good quality, the students may want to practice more!

In addition, another one of my niece had just purchased a Snow, also. Lucky girl!

Excellent initial purchase experience.. I recommend this shop without reservation. I know it stocks Chinese "Snow" brand instruments. I do not know if it carries other makes as well. I was referred to this store by another violin shop that was temporarily unable to provide the new "Snow" violin I was looking for. I was very pleased with my experience. The salesperson was curteous and well-informed. I had called ahead and when I arrived they had pre-prepared four violins for me to sample. At my request, the sales person played all four and recommended the best one of them to me. The price was exactly what was quoted to me over the phone and there were no unexpected extra charges. I have not had any problems with the violin and it has not needed any routine service, so I can not yet comment on their follow-up service.
