Worst Tempra....
I usually order Tempura, whenever I try new Japanese restaurant,
especially if restaurant is owned by non-Japanese people.
Tempra is always the safest dish for me, who is native Japanese.
I don't know how they can mess up Tempra...
As a Japanese, the food at Sato was not acceptable.
In addition, inside restaurant is too dark...
.

un avis francais.
I was working in a restaurant in Paris and I've been dreaming of becoming a famous cook in France. I came to New York from Paris for a vacation to visit the place and the restaurants. I was going out to eat dinner and my family members took my over to Sato's japanese restaurant. I really liked the decorations in the restaurant as well as the food. The food there was fantastic. The food they served were all fresh and they have great service. Why aren't there restaurants like these in Paris?! If you go there, you won't regret it.
Thanks Sato.
Bonne Appetit.
Sushi and more.
For a few years now ( 5years) Sato has gave us REALLY one of the best sushi one can expect, I'm really happy now that Sato has just Opened in Manhattan on Second Ave and 72nd street, Can't wait to have more of that Yellowtail tartare and my favorite of all is the Hot foie gras with eel that a truth delight maybe because of his French background.
Most of the Maki are so refine not too much rice which is room temperature and melt in your mouth just unbelievable !!It's just great!
The best in Queens !(Manhattan style). I'm a regular customer, food is good, service is nice, decor is warm & cozy. niceeeee!!Try it with the fluke shoyu, yellow-tailtartar or roll such as volcano roll awesome ,u won't be disappointed
excellent japanese restaurant in queen and east side manhattan. Actually i am the regular customer Sato in queen.the sushi was so excellent!!!!!!!! and the best news is the sato second restaurant just opened at 1395 2nd ave new york. im so luckly is just near my office.and the first i stepped in there,i was surpriced by the decoration so great and so romantic.i started to order my favorite one "sushi sashimi".they always get me the fresh one.yes it is the way they are, alwasy offer the fresh one.not just the fresh food the service was so great too.they are so friendly too.i am really really feel the good atmosphere in there.trust me,SATO is best of the best japanese restaurant in manhattan.
Wonderful. This place is wonderful, I have enjoyed every visit and plan to visit more often. I absolutely adore the maki rolls they serve as well as the appetizers like gyoza and shumai. They have the usual rolls including some unique ones taste fantastic. I'm somewhat addicted to their volcano roll. Plus the waiters are courteous and are willing to explain items to you. They also having parking which is another great perk.
the only sushi restaurant in Queens guaranteed to have fresh sushi!!. There aren't many sushi restaurants in Queens that I trust will always have fresh, quality sushi but Sato is one of them! Their portions aren't that big but the decor and service make up for it.
my favorite jap in Queens. looking for jap in queens??? look no further SATO is the place to be!!!
