Didn't even get to see a Dr!! Dr was a no show!

by mir m at Citysearch

I had a 12:15 appointment and there was a girl in front of me with a 12pm appt for Dr. Belous. At 12:45 Dr. Belous wasn't even in yet and we were both just sitting there waiting until the receptionist said she was running late. it was not te girl at the front desks fault, she was nice, but this was my 2nd time I went there and the 2nd time the Dr. was not even there when she had appts. How unproffesional is that? I left work for my appt and sat there 45 minutes for nothing and then left without even being looked at. DO not suggest this place AT ALL. I understand waiting 30-40 minutes to see a Dr. but for a Dr. to just not show and have No regard for people's time in NYC is ridiculous. Also, the reason the front staff may be rude is because they are so udnerstaffed. the phones didn't stop rining and patients just sat there hrassing the girl at the front desk because the Dr's don't show! It would suck to have her job.

LASIK/PRK Refractive Surgery

by eyejinx at Citysearch

I had refractive surgery with this doctor. I have terrible starbursts and glare as a result of my corrected area being too small for my pupils, Performed at Laser one with the VISX. Corrected area was smaller than doctor said.

Good CL specialist but horrible administration

by Whomp at Citysearch

They always get my appointments wrong. They called me in to come pick up my contacts and when I arrived there my contacts were not ready yet. This happened to me TWICE. It takes me 1 1/2 hour to get there by train. They wasted my time just because of their sloppy administration. The person in charge of appointments was always too busy and confused. She put me on hold for so long when I just wanted her to check if my contacts were ready. 0 stars for the appointment maker.

As for my contact lens specialist Dr. Susan Hong, she did an excellent job with my RGP lenses. I'm surprised at the bad reviews. I guess I'm lucky. She immediately switched me to a more comfortable brand. She's very persistent and achieved getting my problematic left eye to see 20/20. I have not seen this well since 15 years ago. I came out with my new RGPs seeing better than I ever remembered. Crisp, vivid, glare-free, comfortable, 20/20 in both eyes (that's pretty good for a high myope like me). I wasn't charged for the contacts with refractive errors from the trial fitting. I paid for two lenses. The whole process was less expensive than I expected. 5 stars for Dr. Hong.

The worst doctor, the worst center ever!

by andrada2010 at Citysearch

I was there to see Dr. Liviu Saimovici, after I was waiting 2 months to get this appointment for such an INCOMPETENT doctor!

I came in at exactly the time of my appointment (it was also my lunch time), and more then an hour passed and the doctor will not call me. It was such a mess! The staff was rude, they will not care and the doctors were all over the place. running around and it look like a jungle.

After more then an hour I was called, 2 times tested and given a prescription that it was completely wrong: I have progressive glasses from 2006 and the new prescription was less then my glasses when I was claiming that my eye sight was deterioreting.

I went in 2 places to have my glasses done and I was told that the prescription was wrong. I called the center and after numeous calls I was told to come in for a second check-up with another doctor and I was giving an appointment. On the day of the appointment when I arrive there I was told that I was not in their computer with the appointment and I can not be seen. I asked for the office manager and she put me thru with a technician who gave me a completely different prescription. Even this one seems to be wrong and the person at the optical place who made my previous glasses insists to see their doctor in order to check the new prescription.

The doctor who saw me initially at the Center, Dr. Saimovici, he was completely incompetent.

THIS CENTER SHOULD BE CLOSED COMPLETELY - THEY ARE INCOMPETENTS , SUPERFICIALS AND ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE.

This is a joke center. a nightmare!!

Definetively to be avoided.

Poor Administrative Staff

by BROBSMLE at Citysearch

I went to Dr. Rosenblum's office after finding him through my insurance plan's website. I called to book an appointment and to double check that they do indeed take my insurance. After confirming that they do, and that I could purchase glasses/contacts at that location, the receptionist asked which doctor I would like to see; I requested Dr. Rosenblum.

I was kept waiting for about 45 minutes before I was taken into a room for my first exam. After my first sight exam, I was asked to wait for Dr. Rosenblum. Again, I waited for about 40 minutes until he came to the office. He was very thorough and nice, and it is because of him that I didn't give this a one-star rating. After my second exam, I asked his assistant if I would get my prescription for contacts at the front desk, and she said yes.

I went to pay my co-pay and am informed that 1) Dr. Rosenblum doesn't take my eye insurance because he is a medical doctor so I was forced to pay a $50 co-pay, instead of $10 co-pay like my eye insurance charges. 2) Dr. Rosenblum doesn't write prescriptions for contacts so the receptionist suggested I come back to see another doctor, for another exam, in order to get contacts. 3) I finally was able to have a prescription written for contacts, but they have to be ordered and I will have to return to pick them up.

I suggest that if you do decided to go to Dr. Rosenblum's office, you assume that you have to ask every single question (even those that you would assume one working there would know) in order to be sure that the administrative staff doesn't get confused and book your appointment incorrectly.
