“The service was great, the staff were very caring, the food was great and best of all, inexpensive!”
Maybe it was an off day :(.
I saw the previous rave reviews and took the family last night (thursday). I was not impressed at all. They did have a variety of food but it looked like it had been there all day long, there were more fried food then anything else and the trays were not refilled eventhough there were only 1-3 left of a portion in it. The crab legs were left to over cook in a tray of hot water, there was only one small tray of chinese rice and a way over cooked pot of white rice no where near each other.
The space it's self is roomy enough, the staff friendly and quick to refill your drinks and clear your table for more food. But one thing I could not ignore were the bathrooms :( dirty, floors, sinks and toilets, smelled of well uncleaned public bathroom :(( Some disinfecting bleach was in need of some use in there.
Anyway I'm sure it was once a great place, friendly atmosphere with a wall of happy prior customer photos. Maybe things would be better, fresher, cleaner in the first hours when they open for lunch, but I'm not taking the chance again.
3 stars for price, variety, friendly staff, eager waitresses.
Food variety and the way this Restaurant keeps up such variety. Hi readers, this time while I was on a christmas trip to New York this past year 2008, I gave this Chinese buffet a try with a friend. My first impression was not that highlighted because I thought "from the Bronx you can not expect goodies". I was wrong! We came in and the boss already came up to us with a smile if we want to sit in a booth. Of course! We sat down and the waitress came up and asked us what drink we want. We then made our way to the counters. We were positively sureprised about the variety, the amount of food in each tray were and all trays were full, not like in many other Chinese buffets, where food was already scratched out. They have three long counters, one long counter with standard American food, 2 counters with Asian food inclusive crab legs, shrimps etc. At the end you will also find a Mongolian BBQ grill and a sushi bar. The appearance of all counters looked pleasant and clean. The taste of the food was good and ( at the time when we came ) all trays were filled up. We tried a little bit of this and that, and we tried their crab legs in particular. We read in previous blogs that they tend to overcook the crab legs. We wanted to see if it was true. Unfortunately we also experienced some crab legs overcooked, but we honestly could not complain about them. The legs were very fresh and easily to be taken out from the shells. We came on a Saturday evening. The price per adult for the buffet was $14.99 plus $1 for soft drinks ( refills were included ). When you check out tax will be added. Service is not included, but when you are satisfied with what you got, a decent 10% should be placed on the table. Under the bottom line, we give this buffet a 4 proper star rating. It is certainly a buffet you should try. And when you live not so far away as we do ( Missouri ), this buffet can become your favorite place to eat. A Chinese already has this place for 8 years, so keep that in your head when you go there. Good luck and have fun there.

Excellent seafood buffet.
I have been going to East Tremont for about 4 years and I still love it. The all you can eat snow crab legs are great, so sweet and they melt in your mouth. The menu usually includes: fried chicken, french fries, mashed potatoes, hong kong shrimp, chicken&broccilli, string beans, fried rice, clams, mussels, cocktail shrimp, steamed snow crab legs, crabs, stuffed clams, sushi, roast beef, egg rolls, plaintains, seafood delight, BBQ ribs, jello, iceberg lettuce, puddings and cakes.
Its not a fancy place but if you are looking for an excellent chinese/seafood buffet this is the place, all you can eat and unlimited fountain soda for $32 for 2 ppl is GREAT. The staff is friendly and there are 2 TVs usually set to a sports station for your viewing will you dine. The bathrooms are clean.
They have a private room you can rent for parties. Excellent for those that love seafood.
We have always been looking out for a decent buffet restaurant with fresh and definitely valuable food that are really worth the price... check this one out. The food at this place was well prepared and well-presented. Besides the amazing sushi I have ever tasted (sashimi, salmon etc), my parents and I were impressed by the lobsters, crab legs, NY steaks and baby ribs at the Mongolian grill. The service was impeccable and very friendly. Can not wait to go back!
There was a bunch of seafood so is definitely worth the price. I made a reservation to eat there for my mother-in-law's birthday and the wait staff was very friendly and caring. We never felt rushed and enjoyed every minute of the buffet from start to finish. This is a nice place to come for dinner for couples, parties and group gathering. It has a nice vibe, nice decor. Hope you will enjoy it too. Take care.

Maybe the cemetery across the street makes patrons eat like there's no tomorrow. Or maybe it's the $6.99 cost ($12.99 for dinner). Fried chicken, chicken marsala and General Tso's chicken collide in this East meets West cafeteria. American flags hang with Chinese lanterns. Three large serving stations plus a Mongolian barbecue await. At the buffet, stick with the Asian entrées. The shrimp in garlic sauce had a surprisingly delicate flavor. The meaty mussels far surpassed the usual bargain offerings. And that General Tso's? Tso-tso. Lots of desserts, including a sundae station with soft swirl and chocolate jimmies, plus fortune cookies.
I had a birthday party for my daughter there 2 weeks ago in a separated party room. The service was great, the staff were very caring, the food was great and best of all, inexpensive! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a full feed buffet with quality and great price.
Best Chinese Buffet in Bronx. I have been to a lot of Chinese buffet places but this one is the bomb. I have been to the place many times with my friends, family and we even had our annual company Christmas party there last year. Why I think this is a great place? (The price is reasonable, $16 all you can eat, including a sushi bar providing succulent slices of sashimi, salmon, tuna and also a Mongolian-style grill for steaks and t-bone). Their weekends are always fully booked with various kinds of parties and the atmosphere is fabulous. Is a nice place to try out when you want to eat as much as you want with no pressure. (make sure you get those lobsters and crab legs!!!) take care
