Awesome Salon.
I just came from getting my hair colored and cut here. The results are awesome!! Violet colored and cut and
Ginger washed my hair with a lovely head massage thrown in! Everyone there was so nice and made me feel very welcome...just walked in with no appt and was taken in right away! Price was very reasonable and I am a Happy Customer! Will definetely go back and will send my daughter there next week. Thanks so Much!!
Excellent Service. I have been going to this place for over 4 years now. I moved to Battery Park and still go up there to get my haurcut. The staff is very courteous and friendly and does a very good job for the price.
What did you expect for $20?.
I really needed a haircut last night and made the split decision to be a walk-in at Hair Farfalla on 88th and 3rd Avenue. I have long brown hair, so I thought, it would be pretty hard to mess this up.
I should of known when Sacura, my stylist, took blunt scissors out and started a cutting frenzy. It was fine at first as I had asked for long layers, but then I watched in horror as my hair went from way past my shoulders to pratically shoulder length. In a pathetic attempt to provide shaping around my face, she cut off all the hair on side leaving my with one length, heavy bangs. (Think Johnathan Taylor Thomas's haircut on the tv show, home improvement.)
I made her blow out the hair when she realized how bad it was herself and begin desperately trying to fix the cut. Her defense? "What can you expect for a $20 haircut?"
Best in town.
I love this place. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. And now that I've moved to the west coast, I try to save my haircuts and hair needs for my trips back to NY. I always like how I look when I leave the salon, and the shape of my hair lasts even months afterwards.
The staff is very personable, and the whole shop has a very warm feel.
A two year old could cut better hair!. I read the reviews before I went to Hair Farfalla. They seemed decent and the price was right. I walked in-in order to get the $20 hair cut. A woman named Yoga was told to cut my hair. I told her I just wanted a half inch taken off and maybe shaped a little around my face. She cut almost 4 inches off, "shaped" the hair around my face so that it looked as though I had a very uneven mullet. I literally had the front of my hair cut to my ears and then it drops three inches to where the back of my hair is. To make it even worse, my hair was uneven on both sides. This was seriously the worst hair cut of my life. I'm a pretty easy going person, not too sensitive...I called my mom after and actually had tears forming in my eyes. I would not recommend this place at all.
Good highlights. Butterfly did my highlights and cut and the highlights came out really nice esp. for the price. I cannot go anywhere else in the city because they have the best prices and service.
Best hair cut in town.
Hair cuts and color as good as salons who charge triple the price.
The staff is warm and friendly.
As a regular I have come to love the special treatment I receive.
For the past five years I have only received compliments on my color and cut.
This is a far cry from my experiences prior to finding Hair Farfalla.
good cut good price. happy : ~ ) but bad blw drying. first off i'd like to say good cut and great service. other people gave bad reviews but i thought is was fine. 've only had one cut and the stylists did exactly what i wanted. As seen in the last posts i got a dry cut and if i must say i recommend here and Extreme New York near by in comparison to Bloom. Bloom stinks and ripped me off.! So i haven't had much experience here but I'm I have very thick frizzy curly hair and the stylist at Farfalla did a wonderful cut and seemed to really know what he was doing and seemed like he had lots of experience with my type of hair. needless to say it didn't work out. but it wasn't his fault. my hair just can't be . it needs to be put in rollers or the humidity from drying gets to it.great cut bad dry. should have made him do rollers bdrying instead. i can't say much but if you can make my extremely thick hair look good i'd say you're pretty good. i'd say most peoples hair would be absolutely gorgeous. i really need tr so my hair is really hard to deal with. if you have this kind of hair you know that you need to go up town for drying...and that is what i usually do but i've had too many botched cuts so in terms of hair cuts this place was good.
Take your lunch!. This salon is becoming far too busy. I have been a client for nearly 4 years and the wait time now during my appointment is very frustrating. They have far too many clients for one hairesser at any one time. If you go make sure it is early and ask which day is the least busiest !
Moscow is great with highlights. Moscow is a perfectionist. He gives incredible highlights for an excellent price. Moscow blends the colors well and lifts the base color for a natural look. I recommended him to several friends and they haven't been disappointed. I am a loyal customer!
