great coffee
by coffeemember
i don't get that place! it's the best cappuccino in the neighborhood, perhaps in the entire city and its right next to starbucks - talk about bad location.
the food is nice - really good falafel and other mediterranean dishes and they have $3 guinness during happy hour. the service is inconsistent but always neighborly,
but all of that doesn't matter - it's all about their cappuccino!
- Pros: the food, the drinks, the huge mugs
- Cons: usually pretty empty, confusing vibe
Rude Rude Rude!
by iaskedforcondoms
I am a 10th grader. My friends and i needed to do a project for health so we researched some places where they gave out free cond0ms beacuse we needed to have some for demonstrating the proper use and to distribute them promoting safe s3x. We found that "Push Cafe" was one of the places we could go and it was close to our school on 23rd and lex. We went there after school politely asking (not like loud annoying kids) if they had any cond0ms we could use for our project. The woman told us we coud find some in the back. While we were getting them a man (the manager i suppose) came over to us and told us quite rudly to put them back. We told him our pourpose and his exact words were "walk to the pharmacy and buy your own effing cond0ms" we told him what if they were for our use would you be telling us to put them back? and he told us then "i'd effing throw you out" we told him he was rude and we left. This is NOT proper the behavior for a man who ooks like hes 56. Didnt his parents teach him any manners?
NOT VERY GREAT STAFF!!
(he didnt say effing he said f*cking)
- Pros: Its always empty so theres aways room for you.
- Cons: BADDD service!!
worst cafe ever
by no_go
If you want to waste your day/evening, wait light years for cold coffee, and be snapped at by the wait staff then this place is right for you! You couldn't pay me enough money to go there again. Don't waste your time. Go somewhere, anywhere, else. Trust me.
- Cons: bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere
There are better places to go for drinks...

The atmosphere at Push is not the homey place you'd expect from little neighborhood place. The food selection is random and small - although the wrap I had was decent. It's a little pricey for the quality and the service was slow and unfriendly. I'd rather go to Starbucks next door where the staff at least greet you.
- Pros: Not too crowded
- Cons: Spotty service
Great Place which I really miss
by rainhaim
Back when I was living in New York, I would drive into the city from Brooklyn to enjoy some relaxing time at Push. Whether I would come for a cup of coffee, some alcohol or to have a meal the staff were always really friendly. I moved to Israel 2 years ago and Push Cafe is definitely on my top 10 list for places I miss visiting in New York.
- Pros: cheap and tasty food, friendly staff
- Cons: sometimes hard to find parking in the middle of the day in this area
