Editorial Review for Mare – by Marcella Veneziale
In Short
This Chelsea seafood establishment lists enough fish on its book-sized menu to repopulate the Hudson River. Decorated like a cleaned-up seaside beach shack, the tables sport checked tablecloths, while sailing memorabilia lines the dining room. Diners go for appetizers like Maryland lump crab cake and steamed Prince Edward Island mussels. The entrees reflect the kitchen's diverse influences, from a Japanese-inflected yellow fin tuna to pub grub like fish and chips.

I went with a co-worker for lunch and had a great meal. We both had salmon with a side of vegetables. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. They served fresh rolls to start the meal. It was very reasonably priced and the service was attentive. Highly recommended

We spent a Saturday evening there. It wasn't crowded and the atmosphere was nice. The service was ok, inspite of telling the specials of the day, he just refered to the board on the wall - we can all read ourselves! We had the Tuna. Not only given the fact, that we are in a seafood restaurant, the taste was disappointing. It wasn't like eating fresh fish as we had expected.
Pros: quite place even on a Saturday
Cons: taste of the food
