I went to the restaurant and the food choice was not all that good. I didn't have a good experience. Waiting on line for so long was not worth the wait
I was there for the trailer release for Dark knight! R.I.P..
I could"nt enjoy myself. It was very sad when they anounced Heath"s death. The window were I was sitting was by the direction they where carring his body. I could see it all. I did"t eat my food and I still have nightmares. All the Tv"s had him on being pull out on a strecher. river of stadium crys burst out. Every time I think of Planet Hollywood I think of that!
I really want to get over this!
Citysearch Editorial Profile. New York channels Hollywood at the Midtown Manhattan outpost of this international chain, where tourists dine among props and memorabilia from famous silver screen hits. The food isn't really the draw, but the menu features classic American eats like burgers, salads and sandwiches. If you actually hope to spot a celebrity in the flesh, go elsewhere.
Planet Hollywood. It makes you feel like you are really in Hollywood. Very popular old and new music videos, a gift shop, great foods. Sometimes celebrities come in there, but eat in a private room so they don't be bothered. When I was there last, Nick Lachey and JEssica Simpson (just newlyweds) came to dine a candle light dinner. There are photos all over the place on the walls and everything of the most popular and famous hollywood stars......... A taste of Hollywood here in NYC. It reminds me of a backwards version of hard rock cafe. This place can put you in another world, though it is pricey. They sell posters of movie stars, rock stars, and singers. They used to have boy bands posters back in the early 2000's, but removed some of the pop videos and put on more alternative stuff since late 2003. They used to have stuff of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys/NSYNC half a decade ago, but nowadays they have stuff of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Bros.
bad planet.
stopped in today for lunch bad move seated but had to wait ten minutes yes ten for service people next to us left -should have followed finally ordered 4 burgers waiter asks how we wanted them cooked , as follows 2 med 1 med rare 1 well , bugers come all of them burnt reheated dried out patties cold spinach dip needless to say we had 2 25 dollars gift coupons only to be told after we ate that one could be used had to go downstairs to buy a cheesy shirt.
stay off that planet ....
Not too bad for a chain. I ate here with my mom last year and it was very nice. It was at lunch time during the week so they were slow. They sat us right away and the wait staff was attentive. The food was to die for but was ok. I would definetly go back.
McDonald's is Better. Ok, so I know that you really don't go to Planet Hollywood for the food, but I thought how bad could it be? it was worse than I expected. I ordered a cheeseburger medium, you figure they can't screw that up. When it came out is was well done, the bun was hard, and the cheese WASN"T melted. I mean come on, melt the cheese at least. My friend ordered the sizzling fajita, and it had a intense mesquite flavor, as if they used too much liquid smoke. She sent it back, because each of our party tasted it and agreed it wasn't good. The kids (the reason we came) ordered....chicken fingers, the actually said it tasted "bad". The VIP appetizers were good, that actually made the experience tolerable. Their is some good movie memrobilia, but overpriced and just bad, bad, bad food. I have to say I've had better cheeseburgers in fast food restaurants. Save your money and eat someplace else, honestly it was awful. I didn't even get a pickle on my plate.
Terrible Service and Even Worse Food!. On Nov. 11th, I took some out of town guests to Planet Hollywood for lunch. I figured it would be a nice ambience for them considering all of the memorabilia and also to enjoy Times Square. I ordered the Southwestern salad and after a few bites I noticed some hair in my mouth. Thinking it may be mine, I took another bite only to see that it was cooked into the chicken (it was long dark hair and I have very short blonde hair). I stopped eating immediately and waited for my guests to be done before I said something. The waitress was so rude and didn?t even offer an apology; then she gave us the wrong bill and was annoyed when we told her that she had made a mistake. Needless to say, I did get the few hairy bites of my salad complimentary but never once an apology. I left hungrier, nauseated, and angry. DO NOT bother making this a stop on your trip.
Much better than you'd expect. Who wudda thunk it? A mid-town tourist trap, but the food was actually GOOD! The innovative pizzas were incredible, one of them just like Japanese okonamiyaki! The staff was friendly, and not aggressive at all, despite our increasing group. No reservations make things slightly annoying, but once you get up the stairs, you can wait for your friends and-- if they realize they don't have to wait in line-- they can just join you. The atmosphere is fun. The food is good, if somewhat overpriced ($6.50-12.50 for a beer). Not bad. --Eat Club is a roving group of NYC gluttons.
A lot of fun, great servers!!. Okay, so before going I read a few of the reviews on this site, and was told by other people that the food was horrible but the restaurant was fun. I totally disagree! My two friends and I were both very pleased with our food and finished everything we were served. On top of the good food we were seated fairly quickly. Our waiter was also great, he was extremely friendly, each time he came to the table we started a new conversation. The decor was also great, they has a ton of great memorabilia. My friends and I also loved the contests they had where you had to guess the name of an actor or actress to receive a prize. Overall it was a great experience, the food was great, our waiter was even better.. I had a ton of fun.
