Better Than The Bigger Optical Chains!!!. Upon entering this locale, I was greeted instantly by the owner - even though he was with a customer. After browsing the selection of frames, he introduced himself and helped me select a frame. He was so helpful and courteous about the selection of frame and he helped me decide upon the lenses I would need. He asked me plenty of questions about when and how I use my glasses. We finally decided on frame and lenses and I was surprised at the price!!! I shopped around that area and was very excited about making this purchase!!! I will definitely send my friends and relatives to this optical store!!! The experience was so amazing!!! It beat the bigger optical chains!!!

Great Eyewear Selection!. For the last few years I have purchased all my eyewear at MaxiemEyes Optical. The amount of compliments I get on my cool specs are too many to count! Strangers on the subway have approached me, coworkers, family and friends all want to know where they can get my trendy eyewear! The store is convenient to get to and right next to Whole Foods. It has the hottest selection of eyewear and beats any of the chain stores!

In addition to the selection, the staff is awesome. Dr. Rosen not only provides a thorough exam but also takes the time to carefully select and offer you the most "fitting" frames. Anyone who has looked for frames knows how daunting it can be to choose. Without hesitation, the staff carefully and honestly helps you pick out the best frames for your face and style. They always want to meet your expectations and make your glasses the best accessory you own! You never feel like you've walked out of the store with a bad purchase. Instead you can't wait to go back and pick up your new glasses. I've also gone back to have frames adjusted, retinted, even had my lenses cleaned like new. (thanks, Calvin!).. and it's all done with a smile.

I LOVE MY NEW GLASSES!. I've been wearing glasses since second grade some 30+ years ago and I've never felt more confident in my glasses than I do now - thanks to Dr. Rosen and Calvin. Who knew glasses could have so much style and be comfortable? Thanks guys for making it so easy for me, your service is great and I love to see all the latest styles. My new glasses are the coolest! Great Experience!. I had such a great experience at Maxim Eyes Optical! It?s a trendy, upscale shop with a down-to-earth attitude. Dr. Rosen and Calvin the optician were extremely helpful and patient while helping me find the right pair of glasses. After trying on many pairs, I decided on a Kio Yamato red and white style and absolutely love them. I?ve received so many compliments, not only from friends and family but strangers too! I highly recommend this lovely shop not only for their selection, but for the wonderful people too! Happy Shopping!

Great eyeglass store!!!. I have been going to Maximeyes Optical for many years now and have nothing but good things to say about the store. They have high-end frames but without the high end prices and all different prices in between. Calvin was attentive without being overbearing and gave advice about what looked well on me. Dr. Rosen gave a most thorough eye exam and is also terrific with helping to choose frames. The store looks more expensive than it actually is and I recommend them to all of my friends.

easy. After my horrible experience @ Mott Street Optical, I decided I should go someplace else for my glasses now that I had my prescription. I definitely wanted to give my business to an independent store so I searched and found Maximeyes Optical

I dragged Stan w/ me since I can never make a decision on my own. I wasn't expecting much after all the bad luck i've been having trying to find the right frames at multiple stores but the minute we walked into the store, I was pleased at the set up. All of their frames were displayed in large wooden cases that you could pull out and try on yourself, no more waiting for a clerk to come over and pull out each and every one for you. I also loved the mirrors they had in the store, full length and portrait, much better than the vanity stand type mirrors they have most shops. Calvin, co-owner of the shop was a great help, gave no pressure, just advice. I thought they had a great selection of Japanese brands, none of the common designers that you would normally find, i.e. Chanel, Prada, Calvin Klein, etc; I wasn't really looking for that, I just wanted nice frames that would look and fit good. After narrowing my choices down to 4, I finally decided on a Kitami frame. When it was time to order them, I was dreading the final bill, as my prescription is so high it usually costs me a fortune. The final cost was $223! Can you believe that? That's including frames, micro thin lenses, anti scratch, and anti reflective coating. And I got them in 5 business days. That's sure beats the $400+ I paid 3 yrs ago at Cohen's, never again.

The best optical store in Chelsea or perhaps NYC. What a selection, and what amazing customer service. It's hard to say what's best about this place - the people who work there, the incredible selection of amazing glasses, or the reasonable prices. Simply said, the best optical store in Chelsea and potentially in NYC. If you are looking for a pair of exceptional glasses, an eye doctor who will take her time, and an optician who pays attention to every detail to make sure your glasses fit just right, then this is your store. If you are looking to get average product at at a ridiculous price, go elsewhere.

Great gem of a place in Chelsea. I highly recommend this little gem of a place near the Chelsea Whole Foods. I dreaded having to get glasses but they have some very nice styles here which allowed me to fix my near sightedness but not compromise my fabulous self :)

Seriously, they are very helpful and patient and actually did a style consultation with me to help me find something that worked with my face, hairstyle and overall look. I've gotten plenty of compliments so they get my full five star rating!
