An oasis of taste, grace, class and style. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Mieko when her shop was tucked away on Grove in the West Village. It was a Wonderland, an Oz, a Heaven on Earth and remains so after the move to Thompson in Soho. Quite frankly, I would follow her anywhere. Her shop is an oasis of taste, grace, class and style. The designs are unique, and manage to be classic and fanciful at the same time. The fabrics are exquisite to the eye and delicious to the touch. The care and kindness you receive as client or browser is unparalled. One of the things I love most about the shop is the way Mieko and her staff sense who you are, what you will love, what will look great on, AND what you MUST have. They pull it and hang it and help you in every way imaginable. They tailor! You always will feel beautiful in her clothes and in her shop. Mieko is the gift to yourself (or a friend) that keeps on giving.

Beautiful fashion ecosystem. The Mieko Minz Store is like a small fashion ecosystem of beautiful clothing and accessories. They are so skillfully designed, considered and made that I always find not just one thing I want, but the whole collection. Every piece is very unique and there is always an element of a surprise or humor and definitely artistic touch. It is a store which presents an individual way of thinking about fashion. If you are not a main stream fashonista you will find there are many beautiful clothes and accessories for yourself and your lucky friends.

Artisan textiles and knits make interesting, unusal clothes. Meiko is not only a talented designer --- she designs many of the selections --- she has an eye for selecting work of other distincitive designers. The fabrics, handknit, hand loomed, from antique Japanese komono's or screened can be subtle or colorful. I always get compliments when I wear one of her jackets, knit tops or hats. The service couldn't be better and she makes adjustments so the garment fits as if it was custom made.

Amazing Textiles-Stunning Design. Stopping in to browse at Mieko Mintz is delightful. Here are one-of-a-kind, handmade clothing, scarves, hats (fantastic hats) and jewelry you will not find elsewhere. When I say hand made, I mean (most of) the cloth is hand made, hand woven, and/or hand dyed. The beads are not only hand strung but often hand made, combined with found objects--extra-ordinary. The knitting (and I'm a knitter) are original, exceptionally well-designed, and beautifully executed. When I wear something I have found at Mieko Mintz--a necklace, a ring, a scarf, a hat--I always receive a compliment - from someone with a good eye, another artisan, an artist, or a fellow knitter. Equally inviting are the quiet, intelligent and whimsical personalities of not only Mieko but also her staff. This store is a treasure.

The best boutique in town - and it's a big town!. Unique and flattering designs for every figure, gorgeous fabrics - they shop the world for them - and the best basics as well (I bought a pair of the Perfect Pants, went back a week later and bought five more pairs). Buy one of her jackets and years from now people will still be asking you where you got it. Add kind and individualized attention, expert tailoring for a reasonable fee, a serene ambiance, , and special evening events different than you'll find anywhere else (on Kimono Night, the proprietor chose me for a model, and an expert kimono dresser turned me into someone I've never been before). I think you should go there, right now.

Something fun and funky for every season. Mieko Mintz is simply amazing! It's not only my favorite place to buy beautifully unique hand knit hats and winter accessories that are cozy and uplifting on the darkest and coldest of winter days, but they also have the most gorgeous hand detailed jackets and handmade jewelry. I always go in "just to find a gift" and end up buying a thing or two for myself because I just can't resist. The staff is especially lovely which makes the experience that much more special.

The Place to go in NOHO. On a cold, slushy day in New York, I happened upon this extraordinary Noho boutique. The adorable, hand-knit hats in its window drew me in. Once inside, I was greeted by a friendly sales associate, and was then introduced to Mieko, a delightful and most creative designer. I was awed by many of the items in the store. Specifically, a glamorous apple green evening coat, a unique, plaid beret, an unstructured silk blouse, and the fantastic fabrics from which an outfit can be customized.. The shopping experience was unique and satisfying, and I've kept in touch with Mieko Mintz over the years. In fact, she is on the lookout for the perfect fabric to create a gem-toned something for me. Now that's service! I urge shoppers to make a trip to Noho to visit Mieko Mintz's boutique. It's both fashion-forward and fun!

A great shopping experience. Great selection of unique clothing and accessories. The fabrics and styles are original and make great additions to any wardrobe. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mieko will even custom make anything you desire! Who could ask for anything more?
