Editorial Review for New York Sports Clubs – by Katie Heffernan
In Short
With expansion into the outer boroughs, Newark and Long Island, NYSC's locations have become so ubiquitous that New Yorkers are likely to have a location near work or home, if not both. This emphasis on convenience extends to its signature circuit training program, the 22-minute Xpressline--not to mention the range of equipment, from Cybex and Icarian machines to Hammer Strength free weights. Other offerings include classes that focus on core-strengthening, flexibility and kickboxing.

The clubs are ok if you're looking for bare minimum facilities - basically the Starbucks of gyms. Just beware of thefts, especially at the 95th Street and Broadway location.
