An Aladdin's cave to suit any budget- incredibly cool place!. Arcadia is simply the best! Both a fun to hang out and an Aladdin's cave of beautiful and cool things. This is actually one of my favourite insider's tips for people visiting New York. From unique and individual gifts to fantastic staff, I am always wandering around the treasure trove knowing that whatever the budget, large or small, they manage to find the perfect things to fill the store (my home, and the homes of those I love). Check it out! It's a neighborhood gem. Pop in and say hi to Jay the owner.. really nice guy!

Great place to shop. I've been going to Arcadia for years even before it moved and each time is a great experience. Whenever I want to find something totally different I go there. It could be a pretty wall fixture, jewelry or some of the hand soap products. Doesn't matter- it is unique and the staff always is very knowledgeable about its merchandise. Check it out.

Interesting and unique selection of handmade jewelry. They have a large and interesting selection of jewelry. Their window display caught my interest and got me in the door, and the attentive and helpful salesperson (very patient) showed me 6-7 necklaces from the window until I found the one I loved. Prices vary, some are quite reasonable, others seem a little high. I like wearing handmade pieces that no one else has though, and they have lots to choose from, by artists from all over. Many interesting materials used too, wood, cork, Japanese paper. Unique stuff. Friendly and inviting store.

Great for gifts. I've shopped at Arcadia for a few years now, and rarely fail to find a beautiful gift with an interesting story behind it. The prices vary but there's usually a good deal to be had if you hunt a little.

Avoid at all costs. I was in the new store at 228 Eighth Ave on Friday, June 23rd. Contrary to their web site claims, the staff was not easygoing, knowledgable and friendly. Many items did not have price tags and the staff was unwilling to look up the price in the computer. Many staff members were incredibly snobbish and several were just plain rude. One boy working downstairs suggested we look elsewhere for a housewarming gift; nice sales technique! They had some cute merchandise but so do 1000 other stores in Manhattan, all of whom have friendly staff members. I would NEVER go back to Arcadia and I would not recommend the store to anyone I actually like.
