In Short – As light and airy as a country farmhouse, the simple decor and pine furnishings radiate rustic ambience. Local sophisticates gather at a long communal table, while couples sneak away to private seats in back. The menu features salads, soups and house-specialty tartines (open-face sandwiches) with fillings like imported French ham, duck pate, Gruyere cheese and Scottish smoked salmon. For a snack, a colorful fruit tart pairs well with a two-fisted mug of aromatic coffee. –

The Extras:
A full-service gourmet bakery offers artisanal breads, cakes, pastries, jams, Belgian chocolates and imported Mediterranean delicacies (olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, olives) for takeout.

This is the best bread I have eaten since I left Germany. A little pricey but there is no better out there.

The Pain Quotidian

by audrabobbi

The everyday pain. I call to find out what their daily soup is and they can't get someone who is polite or communicates properly to answer the phone. When I go in, there are always about five people hanging around waiting for their food while about eight employees try to fill the same order. This place has great soup, delicious pastries, and great biodegradable potato starch cutlery but everything else is pure garbage.

  • Pros: cutlery, pastries, soup
  • Cons: service, sandwiches, the wait

Staffed by Incompetent People

Everyone that works in this place is slow, terrible at what they do, and very unpleasant.

Everytime I go into this place the employess cannot understand what it is I want. If I ask for white bread they give me wheat, if I ask for butter they give me one tiny packet, and they will not give you any salt.

This is like the Kinkos of Belgian bakeries

  • Pros: Tasty Food
  • Cons: Terrible Services and prices

Bad service.

by envymeny

Ordered a few pastries to go and service was extremely unprofessional. The lady behind the counter had no clue what she was doing. On top of that, she soaked my cake with coffee by accident and I had only realized it when I was miles away from the restaurant. I had to throw the whole thing out. What a waste. Their lemon tart and chocolate chip cookie is pretty good though. Will not go back.

  • Pros: Chocolate chip cookie, lemon tart.
  • Cons: Service.

  • Pros: food, hot chocolate
  • Cons: rude, bad service, aggressive
