Ebony Styles is the most professional and friendly salon I've been to in NYC. Merna and her staff are extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with hair. Most importantly, they keep my hair strong, healthy, and stylish! If you're looking for an excellent salon in NYC, this is definitely the place to go!

Ebony Salon Is The Best!. I went to Ebony Salon yesterday for the first time and I can tell you the results are exceptional. I cannot remember when my hair looked so good and felt so soft. Not only did it look that way when I left the salon but when I woke up this morning. The owner named Merna is a lovely personable woman who runs a high end professional operation with down home charm. There are no pretenses nor drama that you find in many high end hair salons. The treat their costumers and each other with respect and that is nice to see. The place is also exceptionally clean and simple. I haven't been so impressed with a salon in a very long time! Well done Merna!

AMAZING.
On my way in for my second appoinment, and I've been thinking of them ever since the first one. The receptionist was so kind to put me in last minute friday night!
Immediately when I walked through the doors I was comfortable and loved the simple clean design.
When I sat in Merna chair I knew I was safe and would only get the very best. She was concerned with the health of my hair (which for me is #1) and of course was going to make me look chic and stylish.
Its super professional the work is exceptional and I'm so excited to go back in an hour!!!! If you want a great stylist that will have you looking fly b/c your hair is healthy first and will take care of you go to Ebony styles see Merna you'll be sooo happy you did:)

Ebony Excellence. I ordinarily don't write reviews for hair salons considering I usually cut my own hair but after stumbling across this salon while walking with my wife, I felt compelled to write this. The knowledgeable, skilled staff and the friendly atmosphere at Ebony Styles combine for an experience that is, quite frankly, second to none. I can easily recommend this salon without hesitation. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely Fantastic Hair Salon Experience. I first became acquainted with the creativity and expertise provided by this salon in the mad rush leading to my sister's wedding almost two years ago. Although I had been happily associated with a very competent tricologist, I was looking for someone who could suggest an array of new looks, be responsive to my own peculiar expectations and, most of all, ensure that the health of my hair was paramount. Sounds like an impossible set of demands, but not so. The staff at Ebony Styles is one of the most gifted I have encountered. Without exception, every person who walks through their doors leaves with healthy, vibrant, beautifully styled hair. For my part, I was absolutely delighted with the experience, and have been a devoted customer ever since. What is particularly noteworthy is the array of talent assembled. The proprietor of the salon takes good care to learn what the client desires, and offers several options to achieve these objectives. Most of all, with any "look," there is an equal amount of attention dedicated to conditioning which, I believe, is the secret to their uniformly splendid results. Finally, there is not a nicer collection of women to be found anywhere in NYC. It is always a pleasure to visit, and I am always satisfied with my experience. I could not offer a more enthusiastic recommendation.

NYC's Best Hair Care Salon. I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for approximately 3 years now. I continue to be amazed by the level of professionalism and superb customer service that is provided. Merna and her staff members take the time to explain their processes and the products which they use. At this salon, it is more than getting a fancy hairstyle, the stylists are also greatly concerned with hair care. My hair has never been so healthy. I look forward to continue being one of Ebony Styles' biggest fans!!!!

Best Hair Care In the City. First walking into Ebony Styles a little over a year ago, I immediately felt at home. After experiencing a horrific hair experience elsewhere in the city, it was refreshing to walk into a salon where the I was in the hands of a true professional. Merna is an expert in hair care and styling, and I have never felt better about the way I look. Her staff is friendly, caring and I always have a good time in the salon! If you want a true professional experience, this is the place to be!

Overall Great Salon!.
When I first went Ebony Styles I had just lost patches of hair from a color given to me by a different salon and stylist. I remember leaving the consultation very confident that my hair would eventually get back to normal. To my surprise, within months it was not only back to normal in length but the healthiest it’s been my entire life.
Ms. Merna takes the time to understand your hair and your routine; and she gives great advice on maintaining your “salon look” between visits. Her staff is always friendly and attentive. Great stylist, great staff and an overall great salon!

Watch out for the bait and switch pricing. My daughter is a student at NYU. She was in the salon today for a relaxer and trim. She called ahead and was told she'd pay $120 for the service - pricey for sure, but she was desperate. Her regular stylist is unavailable. She ended up paying $190! The salon website says relaxers start at $105. I am perplexed at why a regular old Mizani relaxer (with no special treatments or rinses) plus trim is $190. Very perplexed indeed. Before cries of damaged hair that doesn't get regular upkeep, as I read in response to another unsatisfied customer, I think the thousands of dollars I have spent on weekly professional services for my daughter do not match with that assessment. Make no mistake, my daughter reports her hair is great and "back to normal." I am just put out by the bait and switch pricing with no communication to the client on the change. The relaxer ended up being $160 (trim was $30). What gives Ebony Styles? What was it about the Mizani relaxer with no other special treatments that warranted a 33 percent on-the-spot price hike from the quoted price? We saw dozens and dozens of stylists in our hometown before we found a truly professional stylist that posted prices and didn't change them whenever she felt like it. Upon my daughter's arrive in NYC for her freshman year we scoured The City to find a reputable stylist that did a quality job at a fair price - or at least an agreed upon price. What a disappointment that this practice still goes on.

Amazing service!!!. I've gone to several different salons throughout my lifetime and I have to say that I have had the most pleasant experience at Ebony Styles. The receptionist was welcoming and pleasant. The owner, Merna did my hair and she is absolutely amazing at what she does! She was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable as soon as she introduced herself to me. I showed her a picture of the kind of haircut that I wanted and she went above and beyond my expectations. I am completely satisfied with my new cut. It's exactly what I wanted. Merna was able to answer all my questions about maintenance of the style I wanted and it is clear that she is a true professional. The salon itself is beautiful as well. I have received nothing but positive feedback from everyone who has seen my new hairstyle. I definitely plan on returning to Ebony Styles Salon and I've already referred my friends and family to the salon. My whole experience at the salon was completely positive and I encourage anyone looking for a great salon experience to go to Ebony Styles Salon.
