Stay away from this hot mess ....
Stopped here for a friend's bday...never realized what I thought would be a casual night of drinks with friends would lead to a night of chaos. I was at first put off by the stink that came from inside whenever the bouncer opened the door. Then there were the Wal-Mart track lighting plastered haphazardly around the bar. Then there was the indescribably terrible music....already I'm wondering why the hell I was brought to this low life establishment! All it took was one look around to see that there wasn't even one person remotely attractive - it looked like all the college rejects who never had the guts to come out of the closet. Ok--these are things that should make you want to leave...but it gets WORSE.
A few friends and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat to ward off our alcohol. Upon return, we came upon the 400lb gorilla bouncer, who we'd just spoken to 20 mins before...and with profanities being thrown at us REFUSED to let us back in. At this point, we had only come back to return our Bday Boy's jacket, who'd lent it to a girl in our party since it was chilly. When we explained only one of us would need ten seconds to find our friend, the bouncer SPIT IN THE FACE of one of our female friends. WOA. Then, the bouncer become completely enraged when one of our friends came to defend her and screamed unmentionable obscenities and racial slurs, threats and physically pushed another friend. It was all VERY upsetting. Then, THE BOUNCER TRIED TO DEAL US SOMETHING!! But clammed up, when the manager, Roger, came by--who we'd asked to see since things had gotten so out of hand...what a mess. We found out later from our BDAY BOY that the very same thing had happened to a number of other guests while trying to re-enter after smoking and the like. He saw the bartenders giving the bouncer shots and that is why he thinks things got so escalated.
Luckily, we caught the whole thing on video on our phones. God bless technology. I can say I have lots of friends in the neighborhood, in the community, and muy importante people in the industry (who'd never go there anyways...SOHO House, hello!) that I'll be passing the word along to. And this is a small, powerful, vindicative crowd. I won't be surprised if POSH is shut down within the year.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOT MESS!
Great Place To Party. Posh is a great place to party. The happy hour is great and the crowd and bartenders are always friendly. It would be nice to see more minorities working behind the bar as many of the clients are from many different nationalities.
Great. I went here with my godfather not too long ago (shortly after I discovered he was gay) and we had an amazing time. We got to talk and hang out and catch up. The drinks were good, and the atmosphere was great. I'd definitely go back with him in the near future.
open bar in newyork WHAT?. HELL YEAH OPEN BAR SUNDAY. ENOUGH SAID I mean where in new york can you get open bar? THe decor is just like any standard club. Oh PS make sure you get paul as the bartender. Hes the best
Fun on a weekday!. It was chill, relaxed, and the crowd was popping; pretty packed on a Tuesday night. I went with a friend; definitely take someone with you. Make sure you get bartender Paul to make your drinks!
Night saver. After having a not so good time bar hopping in hells kitchen i went with my friends to posh. My mood changed completely. The music was upbeat and original (not just the same tired old top 40 every gay bar plays on a loop all month). Although it was really crowded no one was shoving people out of the way to walk through. The staff made me laugh and noticed me despite the fact they were incredibly busy and the drinks they made were excellent. Everyone was dancing and having fun and i forgot all about being cranky earlier in the night. Thanks Posh!
Monday Night Partaaay!. Wow! Besides being a little hung(over), Posh is awesome! Where else are you going to find a dance party that goes like this till 4AM on a Monday? The rapper DJ was awesome, the bartenders were sweet (and hot... like a pepper-ha!), and the music and crowd was awesome! I brought two of my girlfriends, and even they had the time of their lives dancing! Monday rocks at Posh!!! :)
3 Nights Out of 3...Awesome Fun Each Time!.
Some friends and I came into New York this past week for my birthday and stumbled upon Posh after a Monday night out in Hell's Kitchen. After we left at 4am, we decided to return on Tuesday and Wednesday night as well, each night as good as the one before it! The bartenders were beyond personable (not to mention nice to look at), the drinks cheap and well-made, and the music beyond good. AND you drink for FREE on your birthday!! Who does that?! Next time I come to New York, I will definitely be stopping by again. Special shoutout to Jeff and Anthony for making my birthday on Monday night that much more awesome, in addition to the other bartenders we met on Tues and Wed (ah can't remember their names though!).
Whoever said this bar has changed "for the worse" obviously doesn't appreciate a great little secret in HK ;-)
It doesn't get better than FREE DRINKS. HELL YEAH!!! I just came from POSH and it is the place to be on a Sunday nite. Can you say OPEN BAR! This is the second time I have been to POSH on a Sunday and was there was an open bar. It didn't last all night but it was long enough to get the place packed. And with Cazwell spinning it couldn't get any better. The owner was just was crazy as everybody else. The bartenders were of course cute and very friendly. I prefer the new POSH! Good thing I don't have to work tomorrow!!!
