The Scene
To summarize King King in two words: versatile and red. Located in a historic building in a revamped Hollywood neighborhood, it boasts tall ceilings, exposed brick and lots of open space. Everything else changes nightly, from the live music to the transformable, sparkly, red Naugahyde bar. Go-go dancers entertain the masses from their netted cage above the stage.
The Draw
In an area known for restrictive door policies and gimmicky-themed bars, King King offers something unique: quality live music without any fanfare. The crowd is reflective of the music, enticing Latin swing fans, blues lovers and rockers. It's a good mix of loyalists who remember the old days, when rock-and-roll heavyweights like Mick Jagger and Lenny Kravitz spontaneously hopped onstage for jam sessions, as well as new scenesters eager to be a part of legends yet to be lived.

from the exterior to the interior, it's nothing like most club in LA, from every aspects of this club it's fantastic. let's begin with the parking...unlike most clubs, the parking attendants at king king are so professional and curtious, but firm of course. the door man/security guards are so polite, it's so not your typical LA doorman/bouncer, they're actually real people, you could actually have laughs and conversations with them. despite their large and condescending sizes, they're very approachable, fear nothing, because the security guards at king king are there to protect and respects its patrons. but beware, be nice or else you'll here it from them, diplomatically speaking. the bartenders are so beautiful, helpful, approachable, professional, and so curtious(unlike most bar/clubs in LA. basically, they're real genuine. and their barbacks aren't only doing hundreds of things all at once, but they also bartend at the same time, wow! a lot of work for these barbacks, but of course they're also good looking, good wokers, professional, curtious, and at times you see them bartend and they sure know how to pour. big ups to these barbacks! don't be afraid to ask the barbacks for drinks because they'll gladly help you, they might look busy for the most part, but once you get their attention they'll gladly help you. basically the bar staff aren't just good looking, they know their profession and they know how to run the place, unlike most bar/clubs in LA, these folks also have leaderships, initiation, fast friendly, and they're all very deligent. the wait for a drink isn't too bad, you have to remember that the club does get busy, especially on the weekend. the manager and the onwner are extremely friendly, down to earth and aren't arrogant. the venue has an overall fantastic atmosphere. no fights, or gangs, or trouble makers. i've been comin' here for years, mostly during balance, and basics. so this place is a must visit, whether you're a local or not.

fridays at the king king are a perfect way to kick off the weekend-not the kind of dress code enforced/have to flirt with the bouncer to get in type of place. when a good dj is in town, the line does get heavy though. been there many, many a times and have never had a bad night.
