Great experience!. Went to the Little Hair Shoppe this past Sunday with my groupon for a professional blow dry. I needed my hair jazzed up a bit for a wedding so Dane walked me through some options that he felt worked well with my dress. He was spot on with his consultation! Would definitely go back again. PS It did cost me an additional $25 to add soft curls in my hair, but it was well worth it. I was one happy customer. Thanks Dane, you're a sweetheart!

Great haircut and amazing people!. I have been going to The Little Hair Shoppe since I moved to NYC four years ago and I haven't regretted it for a second. Over the years I have had my hair cut by Kris, Dane and Petra, and they always did an excellent job and showed meticulous attention to detail. Also, everyone who works there is very friendly and an all-around good person. I would never consider going someplace else.

I Can't Believe How Wrong It Went. There really are no guarantees in life, but when someone tells you they've been coloring hair for 10 years it's a nice feeling to get your hopes up. Alas, pretty naive too. I went to see Dustin to get my hair "color corrected" for a mistaken encounter with DYI hair color. While he did manage to fix it (a bit), the next time I rinsed my hair TONS of dye came streaming out. And upon closer inspection, my hair is still a myriad of colors, and by "myriad" I don't mean tonal, I mean random patches of reddish purple disaster. There's no possible way he didn't notice the uneven quality of his coloring job, so I can't believe that he would charge me such an outrageous amount. And then to only include 'difused' DRYING, in the cost...a total mockery of decency. But you can go if you want.

Dustin is awesome!. Everything about this place is amazing! Dustin gave me a great haircut and gave some killer highlights that I have been getting compliments on ever since I got it done. Everyone is so friendly and you can't beat the price. I guarentee you go in there you won't go anywhere else!

WHY!!!. I have NO idea why this place gets such rave reviews. Yes, the owner is nice and friendly but there is NO ONE in this salon that does hair NY style. Please don't believe the hype, that's all it is...this place is way below average by NYC standards! I mean think hair cuttery with good PR and hype! LOL! Save your money, save your tresses and go somewhere else! NIGHTMARE waiting to happen...ie I just graduated beauty school by the skin of my chin and this is the only place that would hire me! They delete all the bad reviews so I hope I save at least one person from the hair horrors that lie in waiting at this salon!

Dustin Is VERY Good. I have been going to Petra for 4 years, and love her dearly, but I needed a cut last minute and she was on vacation. So, I went with Dustin. My hair is an uber-thick, fast growing mess, (very difficult to style, according to several past stylist) and it had been to long since my last trim. Dustin confidently took the reigns, brought my do under control, and made me look great. I received complements throughout the day and the official thumbs up from form my girlfriend.

I highly recommend him!

Brilliant, honest and talented. Out of convenience, i mistakenly went somewhere else and the woman gave me a MULLET!! nothing against mullets but not for me. After a week of just wearing a hairband, I visited the Little Hair Shoppe. Petra saved my social life! She is brilliant and honest. She will tell you the truth and will never try to "sell" you on anything. After holding back from giving her a huge hug (somehow seemed inappropriate and shallow), i vowed that i will NEVER go to anyone else again.

Don't Do Dustin!. I'm a student at NYU, so I usually only get my hair cut when I go home to Georgia, but my hair had gotten too long so I reluctantly sought out a new hair place. I picked Little Hair Shopped based on the reviews here and its proximity to my dorm. When I first went in, they were more interested in ordering lunch than helping me. And while Dustin did give me a lengthy consultation, he ended up doing exactly what I didn't want. I loved my previous hair cut, I told him to just keep it like that but just cut it shorter, and instead I ended up with this horrible bob I didn't want AT ALL. And then he got snippy with me when I told him I wanted my ends more textured. I even showed him a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted and he still didn't do it. I understand artistic hair license, but when someone is telling you what they want, you just have to do it. He also left my hair completely asymmetrical so one side is much shorter than the other, making me look terrible. So now I have to wait for this horrible look to grow out. I wish I had never gone there!

Such a great find!. This salon was recommended to me by a friend over 3 years ago and I have been going ever since. I absolutely love it. While the space is small, don't be fooled into thinking this is some dinky, second-rate salon. This place is top notch! The hair stylists are knowledgeable & talented, the staff is super friendly and the prices are great. There is a reason they have such a loyal clientele.

Best Salon in NYC. With a staff as charming as the name, Little Hair Shoppe is definitely a cut above the rest! Nestled right off the Bowery in NOHO this quaint salon offers everything I have ever looked for in hair care. Maintaining great relationships and great prices is the LHS specialty. I have been a client for the past two years and I can definitely say that the vibe there is more like hanging out with friends. Walking in the door you are always remembered whether you are sitting down with Petra, Kris, Beau, Seiko, or Tracy. If you are looking for an amazing colorist then you have definitely come to the right place. Newbies beware of immitation!!! There is only one Little Hair Shoppe responsible for the best tresses in NYC and this is it!!!
