Perfect Family Dinner

We had a dinner reception with just family and friends - maybe 12 of us. They gave us a private room which has an incredible atmosphere. And food was just delicious. Calamari was perfect .. yummm. Fish was soooo fresh. They are not only good at seafood because I remember having a piece of steak melting in my mouth.I recommend to anyone.

easily stated WONDERFUL!!

I visited fresh last week after reading a lot of reviews that were mostly very good. I wanted to see for myself if it was that good. The meal ended up being better then expected! The service was great, the presentations of the dishes were stunningly beautiful, and not like most restaurant the dishes tasted better then they looked. As a told the very welcoming gentlemen in the suit I will return soon.

Simply SUPERB on every level... the food, wine, decor, and service are all 5-star!!

Everything at Fresh exceeded our expectations. We stumbled upon this place early on a Friday evening while walking around Tribeca, and were lured in by the beautiful decor which we could see from the sidewalk through the large open windows. We liked the looks of the menu so decided to have an early dinner on the spur of the moment.
Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The flavors were creative but did not overwhelm the taste of the fresh fish. The highlights were the shrimp with avocado terrine (shrimp are flown in alive daily from hawaii), the scallops with foie gras, the sauteed eggplant, and the fresh ice cream cones. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and the new chef (Mike) even came out twice to greet us and see how we liked our food.
We eat out often and are somewhat jaded by upscale restaurants that survive off their reputation rather than their quality and service. We give this restaurant a rare 5-star rating and will be back soon!!

What to Drink:
The by-the-glass wine selection is extensive and well-chosen. If you like dry whites, try the Charles Scheret "Herrenweg" sauvignon blanc, from Alsace ($8), or the St. Veran (Le Grand Bussiere from Olivier Merlin ($7).
Where to Sit:
The dining room, with a high loftlike ceiling, is not terribly loud, but if you want a little intimacy ask for one of the tables under the large ocean mural.
