The Scene – With no windows and only a tiny sign, Apizz has a discreet presence on Eldridge Street. Inside, though, it is charmingly decorated, with dimly lit brick and a giant wood-fired oven occupying center stage. The clientele is young and hip, but serious about its food. – – The Food – The focus of the restaurant is the eponymous pizzas, each with a flaky, salty crust only a few millimeters thick. One is topped with crumbled sausage and the deeply savory house tomato sauce; another, with spinach and three kinds of cheese, absorbs that smoky flavor beautifully. The…
Go for the food and the ambiance

I have been a long time diner at Apizz. The food is consistently hearty and delicious. I would recommend the Gnocchi and the Lasagna. I was not impressed with the Octopus Salad, so I would stick with the pizza to start or even just the fresh crusty bread they bring to the table. They have a healthy wine list to boot. I would highly recommend trying this little LES spot.
Pizza ok; avoid any time; terrible customer service

3 pizza choices does not qualify as a Pizza restaurant. Food quite good but overpriced for the 'hood. If you like paying for a decorator you won't mind the prices. Service was the piece de resistance. Every 3 minutes a bus boy asks if you are finished or your waitress comes over and asks how everything is. The wait staff has never been trained that people dine out to speak to each other and not to be interruputed constantly.
The best part is the manager who when told of the intrusions never blinked nor said a word. If you want a good pizza go to Cronkites a couple of blocks away or to one of a thousand other much better Italian restaurants in the city. You want quiet and romance - stay home!
- Pros: Food good.
- Cons: Service intrusive.
I have only been here once but I would go back

The restaurant was empty so they sat two of us at a four-top, which was nice. The white pizza with spinach was delicious. The gnocci tasted fresh. The service was friendly.
The Details on Apizz Restaurant
What to Drink:
The small but carefully assembled wine list touches on numerous regions of Italy. Several choices are available by the glass, all for under $10. Don't want vino? The bar makes a nice Bellini in season as well.
Look Good:
The correct pronunciation of the restaurant's name is "ah-beets."
Know Before You Go:
Portions are plentiful and the food is filling, but try to save room for desserts like the house-made Gatto Di Formaggio (cream cheese cheesecake with a cookie crumb crust, served with fresh strawberries).
