What Our Expert Scouts Say

November 17, 2012

Dos Caminos is a truly authentic experience, if you are looking to find a perfect example of an urban (or suburban) good times margarita restaurant. Every one of the standard elements are present: the oversize cocktails, the nachos, the elaborately named meat-and-cheese dishes, the unthreatenin use of chiles, the elaborate desserts. It's all done about as well as it can be, and if you want to pick up an administrative assistant, well, this is the place.

Don't forget Dos Caminos. The guacamole was fresh and made spicy to your taste from spicy hot to conservatively mild. My favorite Mexican restaurant in NYC. Short rib tacos are accompanied by unbelievable Mexican street corn! and don't forget to try one of their kick A$$ cocktails! I had the Cosmo Del Diablo, a mixture of juices with pepper-infused vodka.

The service is great and so is the atmosphere. . I was pleasantly entertained by the crowd. The ladies were friendly and it was a nice place to hang out after work.

I don't get this place.... I know this place has a lot of "cool cachet" like its owned by some hot almost famous guys from the mtv reality show the city... And the location is amazing. but ive been there twice and both times the food has been terrible! soggy quesadillas, tastless cheese. the guacamole is great (but too expensive). the only good thing about this place is the drinks, so go there for a round of margeritas with friends and move on for dinner!

Awesome. An awesome place to get together with friends. Great ambiance and even better food and drinks. The waiters are not pretentious like some other places can be. It can be a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

People Watching spot in the Summer. This is a noisy but fun spot in the summer where everyone can sit, drink, and stare at your neighbors. The table are tight and the wait is long but its hard to find alot of outdoor spots in Soho in the summer that serves drinks. The food is a bit expensive for what you get so you are essentially paying for the location. The lobster tacos are great but once again expensive for two small little tacos. One good thing is that the ingrediants are fresh.

Great Spot. Whenever I am in dire need of a good Mexican place that I want to make sure I don't need to visit the hospital right after I choose this place....

Until NYC gets its letter grade for how clean the place is I am sticking to this place!

Very good eats. We went to Dos Camions a few days ago for dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, as was the rest of the staff. The guacamole was quite good as was the prickly pear cactus frozen margarita--their specialty. The chilean sea bass and chocolate torte dessert were EXCELLENT, though the grouper could have been better. Dos Caminos is great for a pleasant dining experience.
