The Scene – Bartenders, sporting jeans and button-down shirts, pour quartinos (quarter bottle pours, served in mini-carafes) of Italian wine to the casually dressed crowds waiting, and waiting, for a table. Walls in the dining rooms are painted a warm terra-cotta, subtly encouraging a boisterous noise level. – – The Menu – One can, and should, make a meal of the excellent antipasti: roast cauliflower with olives; fresh artichokes; sweet eggplant caponatina; and that excellent prosciutto, which arrives, as it should, at room temperature. Indulge in as much gelato as…
service FAIL

First off, the atmosphere is not good at all. It is very difficult to hear anything, and you are very often seated an inch away from another table.
The food is pretty good. I like the pizza - not too heavy or cheesy - and the tapas are pretty inventive and small enough to get a bunch.
The absolute buzzkill here is not the poor ambiance, but the astoundingly bad service. It sort of surprises me that this hasn't been fixed yet; it seems like a good deal of people won't go back. I don't know if the waitstaff is miserable because the working conditions suck, or if they just innately suck/are snobby (note: you work in a restaurant specializing in pizza!!), but they just don't do their job. And, they have an attitude about it. They barely listen to your order, someone else delivers it, and you don't hear back from them until the check comes. Just bad. I'll do delivery next time.
- Pros: um, pretty cheap, solid pizza and tapas
- Cons: HORRID service.
Ok pizza, good gelato

For a pizzeria, I'd expected a much wider selection of pizzas and given that it's a Mario Batali establishment, maybe I was setting too high of an expectation. The $14 prosciutto & arugula pizza I had had a very crispy dough and the toppings tasted fresh. But for $14, it could've been better. I got the 3 scoops of gelato for $7.50 for dessert and tried olive oil, salty caramel and blueberry sorbetto flavors. The salty caramel was saltier than I expected and I didn't like it. If it was only a hint of salt, I think it would've tasted better. The olive oil and blueberry were actually quite good. I was there on a lazy Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded and the waitress was friendly and helpful.
- Pros: Exotic gelato flavors
- Cons: limited pizza menu
Awful! Do not go!
by kellydillon at Citysearch
My friends and I went there to grab some drinks. The second we walked in we got dirty looks from the bartender. He asked for all of our IDs even though we are 25, which is not a big deal. We showed him, and then he goes to tell my one friend that her ID is fake! And refuses to serves us! Learn to do your job buddy and tell the difference between a real and a fake ID. He knew the ID was hers but we knew from the second we walked in there they didnt want us in there. Very snooty, snobby, and stuck-up. I will never be back ever. There is no need for that type of attitude.
- Pros: Nothing!
