Tips for Pret A Manger

Pret a Manger - pretty fast. Definitely the best bet in the area for fresh food on the go. I often find myself going in there for a half-sandwich (best idea ever!). They have good vegetarian sandwich options, like avocado/parmesan/arugula. The coffee is good. The chocolate chip cookies are really, really good, which makes sense considering each contains 300 calories. They carry smoothies and yogurt cups made with Ronnybrook yogurt, which is truly an exceptional yogurt! I love the oat and fruit bar, but stopped eating it once I realized it has over 400 calories. It's loaded with butter and tastes so good.

I've found everything to be fresh and the staff almost disconcertingly friendly. The major con is that there is almost nowhere to sit down.

If I had visited Pret a Manger once in my life, they would have earned 5 stars. However, I visited them 3 times in one week which knocked 2 stars off purely out of monotony. We were visiting NYC from LA and stayed in the Bryant Park area, which is Pret a Manger central! In every direction that you walk you will run into one within 500 feet. So we inevitably visited Pret around noon 3 of the 4 days. My kids loved the fresh fruit and lemonade. I absolutely loved the roast beef sandwich...the first day. The second day it was not my favorite....the third day I gave the chicken a try and was sorely disappointed. So in summary, Pret is good if you are in a hurry and not in the mood for fast food....although I must say Pret is faster than fast food. So give it a try.

Omggggg it's so delicious.. I adore their "still water drinks". I can't stand that when I want to go outside during my lunchbreak my options are processed or just chemical cocktails. It's so refreshing to have a nice veggie sandwich with naturally flavored aspartame free juice. The ingredients are delicious and it's not overprices. I love coming here. It's also a very mellow place to read a good book and the staff at all locations are always super friendly.

Best lunch..... I’m always hunting around for a new and tasty place to have lunch. I was tempted to go into the Pret a Manger one afternoon, when I saw a women munching on a sandwich that looked super tasty. That sandwich turned out to be the Pret's egg salad sandwich, which is still one of my faves, but I have eaten my way through half their menu at this point and besides one or two mediocre choices all in all my lunch times have been something to look forward to.

The space is airy and fun, while the staff is friendly and chatty, but you know not too chatty. They also go out of their way to accommodate my pain in the ass substitutions and deletions that I’m famous for. By the way their coffee is great too, and well the desserts are really tempting – a little too tempting.

Great place to go in a hurry!. I remember walking by this place when it was first opening as they passed out free sandwiches thinking what is this? Why is everyone going crazy for this food? A few months later I walked in and initially thought it was just another chain with frozen food being prepared to make it look fresh. After noticing the assortment of food they had I knew this place was different.

You actually get your food, and I mean get it because it’s already there ready made waiting to be taken. This makes it a perfect place to get a quick bite to eat. Ok, the service is prompt, what else? It is truly tasty. Just because it is pre-made doesn't mean it's not good. Their veggies are really fresh and crispy tasting. You could tell that they don’t put any other stuff in their food other then their natural ingredients. So far, EVERYTHING I’ve tried is scrumptious. They have a lot on their menu such as fruit, delicious soups, salads, wraps, and mouth-watering desserts. Well worth the extra calories if you ask me. And to be honest, the coffee was actually excellent there too.

This is one place I’ll keep coming back to. I’m excited to try out more stuff on the menu. It’s convenient, fast, yummy, and clean, the perfect place to stop by for lunch, before a movie, or whenever!

It's a sandwich. This place sells pre-made salads and sandwiches. You can also get soup. There's really not much more that's distinctive about it.

The sandwiches are fine, but they're very plain. While they taste good, that's really just because of the quality of the bread. The insides are nothing to write home about. Also, the sandwiches tend to run a bit expensive, averaging somewhere around $7 per, which strikes me as being a bit high.

Popular lunch spot with an all-natural approach to on-the-go meals.. In Short
A household name in its homeland England, this upscale deli has landed stateside in fast-paced business neighborhoods. What distinguishes this chain from the typical sandwich-and-salad counter is a fresh, additive-free menu that's served up just as quick. Each morning, chefs bake the baguettes, then prepare a gourmet menu of cranberry-goat cheese sandwiches and chicken-and-citrus salads, and finally display them at designated stations for easy, efficient access. Cafe tables accommodate professionals who have a bit more time.

British sandwiches rock! (Who knew?). The Pret I know and love is on Madison and 41st, but I'll bet that this one is equally wonderful. The sandwiches ($4.50-$5.95) are delicious and packed with flavors you would not normally expect -- onion chutney, pine nuts, etc. Many come on whole grain breads and all are clearly made with utmost care. The distinctive triangular-shaped boxes hold the sandwiches snugly, and by some miracle, they are never soggy. There are numerous vegetarian selections, as well as salads with fresh mozz or goat cheese on top. Gazpacho is also excellent. And don't forget a freshly baked cookie!
