“My favorite scene is when the woman from an early 20th century film applies cold cream to her you-know-what in order to lubricate and make the sex all the more slinky to watch.”
“This is a great place to go with a group of friends.”
“The staff is very friendly and feel free to share your experience with them!”
“went hear with a coupon off their website, so the value was decent.”
Saw some sexy, interesting things here. I like this museum and would go back for different exhibitions. It was a fun way to spend 2+ hours. There are various rooms to wander and I feel there's something for everyone to enjoy and stare at. I liked the videos and descriptions of how other species of animals have sex.
Interesting place to visit. The exhibition is basically divided into two sections. The first being about the evolution of sex within the animal kingdom. This is interesting but certainly throws a wet towel on the idea of learning all about sex. The other section is about the evolution of sex amongst humans. There are lots of interesting exhibits and some amazing artifacts to check out. Overall its really worth a visit and a great place to take your partner.. but maybe not on a first date =p
Fun and Informative. You get to learn about sex and you get to see naked people. Right when you walk in the front door, they make it quite apparent you're in a sex museum with the decor and dark interior. You definitely learn some cool stuff, from sex in the natural to its evolution as a whole. You get a good mix of contemporary sex - in media - and the historic role of sex from our ancestors.
LOVED IT. I LOVED IT. It's a museum for fornication. I'm a guy. There were clothe-less women. I watched the full Paris Hilton fornication tape. I LOVED IT. Do you need more? Okay fine... I also learned about the mating habits of dolphins, bears, monkeys, and ants. It's a museum for fornication... HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE IT!!!!
A great time. This is a great place to go with a group of friends. I wouldn't recommend it as a first date. It's very interesting and educational. I highly recommend it if your into opening your mind and exploring some new ideas.
Learn about sexuality with your clothes on!. Interesting museum about sexuality. Fun to go with a group of friends. Gallery one is about strange fetishes, some shocking, others revolting. Gallery 2 is about changeing sexual attitude in fillms I thought was smartly displayed. The films projected on laying tables was different. Gallery three had unusal modern artwork, and many small exhibits about S&M, robotics , wild machines, and a interactive map where you can read others stories or add one of you own.
Something out of the Ordinary. I went hear with a coupon off their website, so the value was decent. To view the museum isn't very long. The exhibits I saw were videos and Kink. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it. If your cool with that stuff check it out. If your a prude, stay away.
Totally overrated.
I thought this was going to be a museum of sex but it was more of a collection of porn. I might as well have picked up a book on the history of porn because there was SO much more to read than to see.
There were a few sex machines that were interesting but the sex toys weren't much that you wouldn't be able to see in a store in the village. If it were a free exhibit or $2 to get in then why not but to me it wasn't nothing special or worth $10.
Mixed Feelings.
We paid $8, because we had coupons from the AM New York and got a student discount.
The feature exhibit was male sexuality. I would not have minded if I was there with my gay friends, but I was there with my cousin and our boyfriends. The exhibit consisted of pictures of naked men throughout history all over the walls. The next exhibit was much more interesting. It was filled with old fashions porn and some really off the wall sex cartoons. The final room was full of all kinds of sex gadgets all throughout history.
don't waste your time. This place was a royal rip off! $15 buys you three exhibits that take 3 minutes to walk through. There was nothing interesting, funny or sexy about it. If you are so inclined check out their store - more interesting and filled with more stuff the the museum. If you are looking for something interesting, you are better off in the West Village.
