ABC Language

ABC is a great school and i have had nothing but a great experience there in the 5 years that I have been taking classes there.
I do it voluntarily at my own schedule and I like that they are very accomodating.
Great teachers and small classes is great for individual participation and easy learning.
I would highly recommend them to anyone!
- Pros: Small classes, very knowledgable teachers
- Cons: not enough time from work to attend more classes
Great teachers, great school, great learning
by abb2009
I took beginner level French and loved it. Our teacher was great: thorough, knowledgeable, interesting and fun. I also liked the dynamic among the students and how that was fostered by the teacher. And to make it all even better, every year there's a student/teacher party with open bar, drinks, dancing -- and it's a blast!
If you're looking to learn a language in an interesting and collegial way, try this school. I'm going back for my next class this fall!
Thanks for getting me past basic French! I thought I never would!
- Pros: Native speaker teachers; good class size; annual party
- Cons: None I can think of
Fun way to learn new language!

I took intro to Spanish (the very beginner class), it was great! Small class size, manageable amount of homework. Teacher was very nice, good, and informative (native Spanish speaker)! Prices very reasonable when compared to other language classes (that I've found). Textbook good, not the best (a few typos here and there). Easy to get to location (right next to 1 train at 28th St.). Great policy: my teacher called in sick last-min once, so ABC Lang gave us a make-up class AND an additional class for FREE! I've read some complaints from people about hidden charges, but I've never experienced this. Not the most formal of academic language learning experiences, but hey learning the language is what counts, regardless of how it's approached. I would definitely recommend this center for language learning, and if I have the time, I would definitely sign up here again to continue learning languages!!
- Pros: Easy to get to by subway, inexpensive, good instruction, got extra class for free!
- Cons: Not the most formal of academic learning environments, textbook not stellar
Great Language School

This school really made my Japanese language learning experience fun and easy. Everyone there is so nice and the price isn't bad. The textbook could be better I suppose but with instructors like the ones they have at ABC, it doesn't make too much of a difference.
- Pros: friendly staff, flexible schedules, subway nearby
- Cons: not so great textbooks
Bad language center

They have hidden charges.First it looks like price is OK,but they charge extra money later, they are pretty expensive relative to other language centers..
- Pros: location
- Cons: expensive, rude staff and instructors
