Don't expect Birkenstocks and granola in this cafe: The orange walls, groovy white plastic tables, techno-jazz soundtrack and free Internet hookups attract young moderns in Steve Maddens sipping designer soy-infused teas. Though the concept may seem awfully nutty crunchy, the soy-heavy, all-organic menu has broad appeal--it's not just for vegetarians. Whole-wheat paninis include a light and flavorful curried chicken with parsley, raisins, scallions, red peppers and soyannaise, and fresh turkey with roasted red pepper and sun-dried tomato. Though there's plenty to eat, many drop by for the…

"Amie S" is a disgruntled ex-employee just fired from Soy.

Reviews written by Clarence H & Amie S are fabricated by a disgruntled employee recently fired from Soy.
The most recent Health Code inspection is available at:
h t t p://167.153.150.32/RI/web/detail.do?method=detail&restaurantId=41406332&inspectionDate=20090611
(In New York, an inspection must be under 28 points to not require a hearing. Soy's most recent inspection was 9, well within the acceptable range.)
The previous health inspection "Amie S" mentioned was conducted the day Soy was undergoing major repairs, and not even open for business.
If you want to get sick, eat here!

Before eating at Soy Luck Club, you should check out their Restaurant Inspection Information from their last inspection. I did after I got very sick eating at Soy Luck Club, and am DISGUSTED. Here is the link 167.153.150.32/RI/web/detail.do?method=history&restaurantId=41406332
They Scored a 44 (a zero is a perfect score, so a 44 is like a 56% = MAJOR FAILURE).
I have been to Soy Luck Club twice now and have to say the place is average at best. Both times I was there I a soy matte-latte with honey ginger and a #1 pressed bagel with salmon and soy cream cheese. I have to admit that it was yummy both times. However, both times I came home and was VERY sick. I figured that I might have developed a sensitivity to soy milk, which I have read happens to people from time to time. But, after talking to a neighbor who also had a similar experience after eating at Soy, I am convenced that it is not a sensitivity. Because I NEVER get sick drinking a soy latte anywhere else.
My neighbor pointed me to the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene (listed above). It took a little bit to find them, because there has a been an address change from what is posted on the Soy Luck Club website (it is no longer 115 Greenwich, it is now 1 Jane Street) and the company is listed as the Yos Corp (Yos= Soy spelled backwards). It made my skin crawl. It is no wonder I got sick after reading violations 4/5/6 and 8. EKK!
