Editorial Review for Blue 9 Burger – by Paul Adams
In Short
The tiny menu includes assorted hamburgers French fries and shakes. Fries are cut on the premises, and burgers made to order, making this place a far cry from the typical chain burger. The small, well-lit establishment draws a college crowd that loves the bargain prices and doesn't mind the paucity of frills.

Same formula as In-N-Out, you can even order using in-n-out terminology... Not quite as addictive, and the consistancy is not nearly the same. Somedays it's perfectly put together, and other days not so much. The biggest difference is the service and cleanliness. Typical NY attitude here, unfriendly, not so clean cut workers instead of the cute girls at In-N-Out. Chaos in the kitchen and food all over the place is a huge contrast to it's California counterpart. Also I had to take back my burger for them to get it right almost every time (even though the receipt had my order correctly). Still, it's NYC and for us poor Californians who were woo'd here for the big bux (no other reason to move to this filthy hellhole) this is the closest we'll get without having to deal with the nearly unusable airports.
Pros: Food is great
Cons: Order accuracy, and employee attitude just not on par with in-out, dirty

So I used to Live in LA and then I moved to NY and now I'm back in LA. I've had the burger drama and here's where blue 9 fits in. In the city its the best place for a quick burger and fries with no lines, and a side of extra sauce doesn't cost anything. Fashioned after In n Out but still has its own charm, real potatoes in the fries and the burgers are great. It they opened a location in Madison Square Park, Shake Shack would be out of business in 6 months.
