The Scene – At this sleek spot on a relatively sparse stretch of Spring Street, regulars belly up to a small bar and greet owner Giorgio DeLuca, of Dean and DeLuca fame, with warm hugs. The narrow space has a raw, sexy vibe, attracting a mix of moneyed Tribecans and city-savvy Soho shoppers who keep the wine flowing and the wood-burning ovens churning. – – The Food – The owner has got an "in" with some of the city's best food purveyors, so the produce and seafood are as fresh as can be and the simplest dishes shine most. This is my favorite resturant in the city. The olive oil itself is a reason to visit this establishment. The food is outstanding. Everything is fresh and it has a little of everything to please all. My favorite is the grilled polipetti. Its the perfect compliment to one of the many fine wines, and its served over grilled cherry tomatoes, olives, and celery. It comes with a nice hunk of brickoven bread and extra olive oil on the side. As far as price I feel its very reasonable. Some places in the city are noted for pizza and the pizza here is simple and fresh with a nice crust thats not too thick. Give it a try, you will not be dissapointed.
- Pros: The olive oil
- Cons: nothing
Horrible Service and Food
by Isabella35
I have never written a review before but felt I had to after what was the worst restaurant experience I've had after living in NYC for 11 years. We ordered a bottle of wine and they brought us the wrong year - when we pointed this out they admitted they already knew this but didn't acknowledge this was a problem. The fish I ordered had bones in every bite and my date's food was ice cold. Incredibly overpriced for the quality along with pretentious clientele. I can't say enough about how bad it was.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Food and Service (besides bus boys who were nice)

Used to enjoy this restaurant regularly but this is the second time found the food just mediocre. So many wonderful Italians in this part of town that have to pass and wont be back.
