The Scene – Diners flock here for Italian comfort food, shabby-chic decor and a mellow East Village crowd. The double-sided, two-storied space begins with a bar-wrapped open kitchen and proceeds from one cozy, candlelit nook to the next. A brick-walled back room with farmhouse tables seats large parties, while subterranean pillow-strewn banquettes appeal to romantics. Unfortunately, stiff hosts and indifferent servers can crush the feel-good vibe. – – The Food – Chef-owner Frank Prisinazo's fresh, rustic fare satisfies the soul and the wallet. My New Favorite Place
by e66st at Citysearch
I have been wanting to go to Supper for a long time but since it's not that easy to get to I have been putting it off. What a mistake - it is so worth a cab ride or walk to get to. We went a little before 8 and were told to wait in the bar next door - the bartender could not have been nicer - the wine was excellent and we had a little appetizer before going to the main restaurant. Supper is lively, so cozy with brick walls, tin ceilings and velvet curtains, and I would like to have the lemon spaghetti every day of my life. I will be bringing everyone I know here from now on - the service was excellent and the food even better. I can't imagine having anything bad to say about Supper - it's perfect!!!
- Pros: Bartender next door, food, coziness, everything
- Cons: It's far from my apartment on the Upper West Side
Always busy

This place is always pretty croweded for dinner so you have to wait at the adjoining bar which is usually not a problem but I was injured and had no where to sit for the 30 min wait and was obviously injured and nobody gave me their seat. The people can be kind of snooty... THe food there is amazing. It is better to go there than get home deliviery. Also, one of the best places I have been in the city for brunch. The french toast is AMAZING.
- Pros: great atmosphere and food.
- Cons: always crowded for dinner
The Details on Supper
Know Before You Go:
Supper only takes reservations for parties of 10 or more. The velvet-draped, tin-ceiling bar, therefore, is the most popular spot in the house. Get on the list and grab a glass of wine.
Look Good:
In addition to a dozen inexpensive wines by the glass, 10 bottles are sold "by consumption," which means if you drink one glass, you only pay a fourth of the bottle price.
