Great bar but the service.... I went there with a few friends on Friday- when we came in the bar was pretty empty and the service was slow ... When the bar picked up (and was packed) the service became even worse (and everyone was commenting on how long it took to get a drink- 20 minutes- - NO exaggeration and it's not that big of a place)- they even added a second bartender which made no impact- for some reason the bartender was barbacking even though they had two other people 'clearing' and noone was pouring drinks- they would make eye contact and then turn away- in NYC there are tons of bartenders out there (good ones) my suggestion is to get rid of these and find replacements and then there would be nothing to complain about!!!

The music, however, was FANTASTIC and the scene was good!!! It's a shame that the service could not have been better.

BEST HAPPY HOUR IN NYC. I have been going to Keybar for a little over a month now with friends every Thursday. What I love the most about it is that it's NYC chic without the attitude. The people are friendly, the owners are amazing, the drinks are delicious, the staff is hot, and the happy hour lasts until 10pm. Who could ask for more?

I just spent my birthday there with 20 of my closest friends, and we couldn't have had a better time. And now Keybar has 20 more local regulars for happy hour.

Great date bar. I was there on a Wednesday night. The place was not crowded at all, just a couple groups of people having a great day. Mostly couples. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and it showed in all the people totally letting go and having fun. The bartender was very nice and responded well to me asking her to make anything she wanted. I hate when bartenders give you blank looks when you don't spell out exactly what you want. This girl was great though!

The music they played was good, not too loud or obtrusive. Although I ended up sitting on the comfy couches in the corner which happened to be right underneath a speaker. This was a little annoying but no worse than any other loud bar. The drinks were very good and not too pricey. I heard they had a fireplace, and I thought it was funny to see a working fireplace, only with 3 lit candles resting peacefully in it.

I can't wait to go back on a weekend when It's more hopping. Midnight on Wednesday isn't prime party time. Which made this the perfect place to go. Lots of fun without the huge crowds. If you're looking for a place to bring a date for a few drinks after dinner, this is a great spot.

It's a sophisticated cocktail party and you're invited to mingle with the neighborhood regulars. Relax on a comfy banquette and sample some of the wackiest cocktail concoctions this side of the Rhine. If you're into subtle red lighting and exposed brick, you'll be a permanent fixture in no time.

The Draw
The Hungarian owners bring some of their homeland to the bar in the form of elegant, reasonably priced platters of cured meats, cheeses and duck liver pate that can easily serve four people (try the Key platter for a sampling of the best). Sip house cocktails like Huckleberry Sin (a huckleberry vodka-based martini) and signature shots like the Rolo (a candy-inspired vodka shot) and Zwack, a bittersweet Hungarian specialty along the lines of Jagermeister.

Birthday fun!!!. so seeing that keybar was crowned best signature drinks of 2006, i decided it sounded like a good place for a birthday party and i was soooo right. I called up a month in advance to make sure i could reserve tables and the owner was insanely nice. He told me to call back a few days in advance to confirm everything. seriously like 3 weeks later he remembered our exact phone call. thats what i call good service. The night of my 24th at keybar was a night to remember. drinks are amazing, crowd is friendly, the bouncer was like a big teddy bear and the music is not that teeny bopper stuff. i definetely recommend this place for a birthday party or even a place to just go and chill with your friends. KEYBAR IS HOTTTT!!!!!

Amazing Lounge! Best Staff!. This is an awesome place! Hosted a birthday party for a friend this past weekend and we had an awesome time! The music was great, the staff is so nice and accomodating, and the drinks are amazing! This is my new favorite place. Definitely coming back.

Good croud, great people. I have never been in this bar before. I friend of mine told me to go there because the good happy hour. The bartender is from an eastern European country & we had a great conversation.She made me try the rolo shot which is terrific, but the unicum...don't do it. Anyway the night turned crazy after midnight, such a nice mixed European crowd, I had many great conversation. Good service, terrific drinks, excellent music. Great time thanks Keybar.

great drinks, AWESOME STAFF. This place is my new favorite. I found this place through citysearch and decided to give it a shot and i was not dissappointed. My friend and I went on a Tuesday night, so it was very chill and laid-back. The drinks were stiff, but very tasty. The bartender was a sweetheart, and the owner of the place is very friendly and welcoming. The lighting is great, and I'm bringing back all my friends tonight. Great place to go to during the week if you just want to chill out and have a couple of drinks, or even better to go back on the weekend to drink, dance and meet interesting people from all over the world.

Welcome to the Barn. If you like the smell of natural fertilizer (ie. manure), this is the place for you. I noticed the smell the first time but I decided to give keybar the benefit of the doubt, who knows, perhaps a horse had made an appearance the night before. Upon my return to keybar several weeks later, I noticed that the smell was not only still present but was as pungent as ever. The bartenders are hot but not worth the vomit-inducing smell.

nice lounge scene. East village feel but very laidback good place for happy hours and meeting up after work. highly recommended
