NEVER AGAIN!. I used to go there for their amazing pastries, despite their horrible services by obnoxious or overly friendly employees. I see that their service is going down hill. Their cupcakes are stale, but they defend their stuff and they won't listen to their customers. After many very unpleasant incidents, I shared my concern with the owners. They feel the same way: if you don't like us, sorry! They won't miss you if you stop going there, so they say. It's not worth your money for overly priced coffee and other things, yes, they taste good (when they are not stale). That said, NEVER AGAIN!

The best Cheesy Eggs. I love breakfast at Kitchenette, and when I say love I mean LOOOOOVEE!! the scrambled eggs with cheese just melt in your mouth, and I love that I can have them for lunch if I'm in the mood. The only drawbacks: It gets crowded quickly, the tables are a little tight to get in and out of, and you might find yourself waiting a bit if it's packed.

How DO they do it???. Everything I've ordered here, from the turkey meatloaf to the blueberry pancakes, not only tastes yummy but like it wasn't made in a restaurant - like it was made for you in someone's kitchen, so I guess Kitchenette is an appropriate name! Usually when the server says 'everything's good' you know they're full of it - not so here :)

Prices are slightly higher then average but the portion sizes are MUCH higher than average and you often get a choice of a side or 2.

Don't get me started on the bakery case - they make everything fresh on-site and really tests my willpower when I walk by it - probably not a good thing if like me you are trying to watch your waistline.

A lot has been mentioned about the brunch wait times and cramped quarters but I've rarely had to wait more than 20 minutes and even at those busy times there's usually a few open seats at the counter for the truly ravenous. Uptown diners also tend to be more courteous about scooting about - if this place was in midtown I'm sure I would be getting bopped upside the head with the overflowing shopping bags of tourists but thankfully it hasn't happened yet!

A great neighborhood find!!!

Terrible Service. Usually when I go for dessert, I love what I order, it's never crowded and service is fine. I went for dinner and it was packed. When they finally took our order, we waited forever to get our food and when everyone else in my party's food did arrive, I was told that what I ordered was unavailable and I had to choose another option, which was terrible. An awful experience which ruined what used to be a fun place to go late at night for cupcakes.

High Quality Food makes up for Zero room for movement. Decided to have Sunday Brunch here with a girlfriend of mine. First thing we noticed was about six groups of people standing outside. I felt good because i knew that was a good sign about the place, the only problem was that there was no waiting area inside because it was cold outside. After about a twenty minute wait we were seated. If you love being closely seated next to people you don't know then this is exactly the place to go. I was so afraid of a little boy coughing on my plate I thought I was going to die. After a reasonable wait time out waitress came back with our order. I ordered the Gingerbread Pancakes with Pumpkin Butter along with turkey sausages and strawberry lemonade. The food tasted of fresh, quality ingredients and i truly enjoyed my entire meal. The prices are reasonable but don't waste your money on the $3 biscuit. It's good but I can buy better for less. Overall nice experience, plan to come again.

Comfort Food and friendly service close to Columbia. Was in the Columbia U area spending the holidays with my sister and went to this place a lot. They use homemade recipes (pancakes are great!) for almost everything, and it is really delicious (though probably not the healthiest!) I tagged along with my sister and her crew for brunch, then returned on my own during the week. Had the same waitress most of the time, megan i think, was really helpful when I was trying to figure out subway directions for my touristy wandering. Will definitely go back next time I'm in town

Great Customer Service. The menu does not have a huge selection....but the food is very tasty and good. There is even a hamburger on the menu for over $15! What sets this place apart from other restaurants is the ambiance and setup of the restaurant itself and the friendly and knowledgable staff that are here to greet and serve you. I felt very welcome here by everyone and was treated like a king. The thought that came to my mind after leaving this place was that......this was a very classy place.

SeamlessWeb needs to drop this place. I was one of the people who waited for hours and got NO food. Last time we deal with you. This place is horrible, what appalling customer service, especially the attitude we got when we called. Too bad I can't give ZERO stars.

I'd give it zero stars but I can't - so 1 star is really zero.. Apparently they think that if you used seamless web to order your food you don't have to answer to your customers. When the list went around I thought to myself "self, what food would still be edible when its delivered late and cold?". I chose the turkey meatloaf and mashed potatoes. After missing out delivery time, and hanging up on our co-worker in charge of the order, the food arrived. Having lunch was like playing the lottery - is my food there? Will it be edible? I was one of the (un)lucky 9 who had their food show up - as opposed to the 3 people who got no food. The best thing I can say is that yes, in fact my food was mildy lukewarm, and meatloaf w mashed potatoes is still edible after being 1 hour 30 minutes late. My co-workers with the burger and Caesar salad were not so lucky. They eat took one bite and threw the food out. Frankly I think we should refuse to pay the bill - our meeting was over before food arrived. If you had a power lunch meeting for a client planned - guess what - you better go order from someone else because you food will not be arriving in a timely fashion. If I was served this food by a client I'd fire them and hire someone else.

I will never order from here again. I urge you all when thinking about ordering your food to come to your senses and go somewhere - anywhere - else.

Sad. This restaurant usually has great food and decent service (at least last time I was there 6 months ago). Everyone has their bad day and it takes a lot to write off a place like this based upon one experience, but this is that exception. There is no excuse for delivery to be more than 1 1/2 hours late, cold food, missing food and hanging up on us when we call for the third time. If you can't get the food delivered on time and with the food at least semi-fresh, you apologize and proactively cancel the order. However, not having the people in place that would extend at least one "I'm sorry" as a basic courtesy means it is time to get out of the business. Sorry to see you go Kitchenette.
