I’ve lived in the city for 20 years and
as a native Californian I’ve found it challenging to find decent Mexican food and a real Tequilla list. I know I’m not alone on this one!!
To the credit of Agave they hit on all cylinders
Food, Tequilla selection, service, staffing across the board all 5 STARS…I only give this when warranted!
I was treated so well at the bar with the bartender
last Thursday that I have to say he is an asset to the entire operation. Friendly, fun, cool accommodating, knowledgable and he left a very indelible impression for me..he just… ROCKS!
Food portions are generous well presented and real quality…The lay-out is awesome!!!!
You guys in sum just do a KICKASS JOB there period!!
Great place to have a drink with your friends. The service is good and the waitress is very friendly. I love how this place can rock and get a bit crowded!
Friendly staff, excellent service, good food and relaxing ambiance. Everything about this place is great! Highly recommended!
Solid Food, Cool Atmosphere. I was so in the mood for mexican food on Saturday and heard good things about Agave. It did not disappoint. The margaritas were huge and the grilled corn reminded me of the corn at Pacifico in Brooklyn (which I totally recommend), so good! I had the chile bronzed salmon salad and my friend had the ahi tuna. Both fishes were cooked perfectly. The avocado in mine was so creamy. Great meal, super cool atmosphere. You almost feel like you are on vacation. Perfect restaurant when you're in the city for a weekend in the summer. Will definitely return.
saw roach, waiter was rude about it (and everything else). Went here for some drinks and nibbles.... we saw a roach skitter across the floor and got visibly flustered. When the waiter asked what was wrong, we told him, and he acted like we were making it up to get a free meal (which it should have been, because it sucked anyway!). One word: AVOID.
Great Place for a Party. Came here with a large party....very good food...mexican done with style, very good value, not crazy expensive at all. Fun vibe, nice decor. Great all around experience.
Horrible service + music.
I used to be a waitress, so I empathize with waitstaff who try hard and maybe are just busy/are overwhelmed...but this place is a hot mess with customer service, even when it's super slow. Food is decent....but that's if you ever get it.
I've been here 3 times, and I really WANT to like it b/c it's in the neighborhood and I love Mexican food, but the service is always ridiculously slow or just plain bad/lazy (it usually takes at least 10-20 minutes to get an initial hello from a waiter). I walked out once, after asking (totally disinterested and unmotivated staff members) to get my order taken 2x, and they never arrived. I will not go here again.
Wonderful food Happy times. We were a party of 8, and my husband and all my friends agree we had the best time ever here! We got there before the dinner rush and relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Everyone ordered something different and all the food was awesome. We highly recommend Agave!
Great Happy Hour Spot. I've eaten here numerous times for both brunch and dinner, and I've never had a bad meal. The apps (and margaritas) are the best things on the menu. It's a nice, laid-back neighborhood restaurant for a casual meal.
