OK, so we have been dining at this restaurant about 5 times. EVERY TIME!!!! we had a problem with the service! Unfortunately, we are stupid enough to keep going back because of great food. This is really a very sad situation - the food really is amazing, but the service is the worst! The waiters are extremely rude, and the manager is even worse! Discusting nasty person who yells at customers and has no understanding what the person in his postition should be like. This Saturday we went again and I swear it will be the last time! I guess the only way you can go there if you will be ready to pay a hefty bill (and a 18% service charge that is already built in the bill) and to take sh--t from the staff. Noone says hello, gooobuy, or thank you and G-d forbid you have a priblem, the manager will come and yell at you ! This Saturday the situation was so ridiculous that we had actually laughed about it. But hten had a $500 bill with the $70 service charge in there already. WHy would anyone try in this case? They are getting paid anyway! Bottom line, if taste is more important to you then service, go ahead and visit them. However, after the treatment they provide, the food doesn't really taste good to me - its that sour taste in my mouth that the manager leaves.
Pros: good food
Cons: horrible service and management. alcoholic drink not great either btw (lack of alcohol, :-))

Indeed the reviews stating lack of service are correct. However, that is a weekend phenomenon. If you can, go during the week, the wait staff is excellent when not under the overwhelming weekend pressures. East Pacific is mobbed at dinner time on the weekend. Also, they have a very nice lunch special which is a great way to get acquainted with their menu, and the service at lunch is always fine. Raymond, the manager is friendly and efficient, and should you ever have a problem with wait staff, he will certainly want to know! I have never been disappointed by the food's quality, presentation or taste. They always use the freshest ingredients and the food is wonderfully prepared and beautifully served. I have a rule never to eat sushi at a Chinese restaurant, only at a restaurant where sushi is the main product. However, I break this rule at East Pacific. Like their kitchen fare, the sushi consists of only the finest ingredients skillfully prepared. And the kitchen fair! Nouvelle Cantonese, Indonesian and Japanese with flair! Unlike some restaurants that throw an updated spin on old traditionals, East Pacific never loses sight of the original dishes, just kicks them up with a bit of a modern presentation and sides. Really wonderfully done. Don't pass this gem up!
Pros: Great ambiance, wonderful food
Cons: service can suffer during the weekend dinner periods
