Danny Garcia Otero. My stylist for five years, Danny Garcia Otero, who was working at Christopher Crabaugh Salon (it closed) is moving to Capelli D'Oro at 123 Fifth Avenue, 2nd Floor, between 19th and 20th Street. (212-477-3000/646-342-2996) He's the best. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. Every friend of mine that started going to him for their hair never left.

My Brazilian Blowout Blew Me Away!. I came here for a Braziian Blowout and will definitely be coming back again! Billy did my treatment and he was INCREDIBLE! Not only was he easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and funny, but - more importantly - he listened to me. My hair is very thick and resistant to relaxers, and in the past my hairstylists have always ignored me when I?ve warned them. But not Billy. He had Shawn (who also did an amazing job preparing my hair, washing it, and applying the mask after the treatment) use some kind of serum on my hair to open up the cuticle. It worked like a charm! I?ve never had such great results before. My hair is straight, but with body, and I can still style it, too! Normally it just lies flat for 2 weeks until my roots grow in. Great job! After the treatment, Shawn styled my hair for me as Billy?s next client had arrived, and he did a fantastic job at that, too. Overall, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Two thumbs up and five stars for Christopher Crabaugh!

Five Hundred And Ninety Reviews. Let's be blunt but fair.

This formerly (and possibly still) terrific salon -- one of New York's true gems -- has gone through massive upheaval including ownership, management and personnel changes. Whenever this happens things change. In fact, everything changes.

I am not saying things have changed for the worse. Not at all! What I am suggesting is this:

Given all the changes the former Christopher Stanley salon has gone through in the last few months it is essentially a brand new business and ought to be patronized and reviewed as one.

That would be fair not only to current and prospective clients but also to the new identity the new salon is trying to create, separate from the old legacy business.

So tread lightly, but do tread. Go. Experiment. See what they have to offer. I plan to!

But understand that this is a completely different place than the formerly GLORIOUS Christopher Stanley Salon was, and ought not be judged based on historical reviews.

Hope I can post a five-star here in the near future.

I wish them Ceiling And Visibility Unlimited.

Rose.

pamela is great. after reading reviews here from other yelpers, i was inspired to visit the salon. i walked in on a rainy day with wavefrizzy hair to see if anyone would be right to tame my locks. indeed the front desk suggested pamela. she came right out and met with me and immediately had good ideas for a cut and how i could manage my hair. i've always blown it out a couple times a week, preferring to have strait smooth hair, to using my natural wave. but pamela was inspired by the wave and suggested products that would help encourage curl and discourage frizz. the next day i had a fantastic cut (picture a less curly version of satc's post-aiden carrie when she went short) with a little product in it. she even met with me the day after the cut for a touch up and further recommendations. love the salon and the people. i'll MOS-DEF be coming back.

Perfect in Every Way. First off, they do 7pm appointments on Fridays. How amazing is that? Secondly - this place is amazing. It's easy to get to and from the moment you walk in, you feel comfortable and welcomed. I have been to my share of salons in NYC and Brooklyn, and there seems to be this snotty vibe going on from the $50 hair cut to the $400 hair salon - you won't find any of that here. So, I had a fabulous time with my stylist, he didn't judge the condition of my dried out Brazilian Blowout, and was very focused on fixing the problem. He listened. Best of all he was gentle and gave me the best cut I have had in a long long time. As I paid I found out Christopher was actually the owner, and it made me love him and my hair even more. I finally found a place I can go back to and be happy about. I HIGHLY suggest trying them out.

Best Salon Ever!. I've gone to this salon twice now, and both times I have left very happy. The first time I went I did highlights. This last time that I went I decided i wanted to try something different (ombre hair color). The colorist Maria discussed in depth with me what I was looking for so that she could get it exactly right. She did not rush me or pressure me, and both times that I went i did not hear the words "we can't do that" or "you can't do that with your hair color" like I have heard many times from other salon when places try to convince me to keep my hair dark and decrease the amount of highlights because "its alot of work". Maria took the time to make sure my hair was exactly what I was looking for, and used different techniques and colors to acheive my color. I have tried other salons but will never go any place else again! This is the only salon I would go to or trust again!!! I definitly recommend going here!

Billy is fabulous. I received a gift certificate from my mother to go to this salon. I was a little nervous because I've been going to the same hair salon for 10 years and this was a big change for me. The employees at the salon immidiately put me at ease with big smiles, and inviting manners. I had the brazilian keratin treatment done. Billy was my stylist and he was wonderful. He explained everything he was going to do before he did it, told me what results I could expect for my hair type, and was funny and personable throughout the two hour process. I've had the treatment done before and the results from my session with Billy were the best I've seen. I don't have to do anything to style my hair now, just shower and go. Between the inviting atmosphere, and the stellar results, I would recommend this salon to family, friends, and anyone who wants a great salon experience with fantastic results!

Karen is the best!. I had a friend who worked here, which is how I found out about Christopher Stanley Salon. When she left, I went on a whim and got Karen. She is a fabulous colorist! I told her what I wanted and she did exactly that. Also, since I only wanted face-framing highlights she charged me less than what they'd charge for regular highlights. The prices are good and everyone there seems terrific. I'm absolutely a repeat customer--I've found my salon in a city full of them!
